"The more laws and order are made prominent, the more thieves and robbers there will be." Lao Tzu

Picture it. New York City, a skyline full of lights and wonder. Full of the gritty, the fantastical, the strange. Well, you're going to take it by storm!

The city is your oyster. Art museums, Broadway stages, science museums, banks, offices... Well, you could try it all if you wanted. And as long as you don't get caught. Criminals, you have to make sure that you stay ahead of the game. Law enforcers, you have to try and stop them, somehow.

And this is where you come in. In this city, you have many roles to play. The road you travel, well, it's up to you.

Before we get started, though, there are some rules of combat that must be covered:

1. You must obey the the rules laid out here.

2. You must post a minimum of THREE GOOD SENTENCES for every post, every character.

3. You must follow all Tamatalk rules and guidelines.

4. PG 13 please.

5. No vampires, special powers, or any other sort of fantasy stuff involved. This is set in modern day New York City.

6. Your form must be approved before you start posting.

7. Once your form is approved, you may post.

(Oh my gawwww totally gonna join. I've always wanted to make a heistish rp similar to the Ocean's movies and Heist Society, but never did. Not posting me form today though.)

Name: Veronica (Vivi) Finch (Also known as the New York Art Phantom)

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Law enforcement, thief, or other: She's a thief who specializes in robbing from museums, rather than from houses or small businesses. When she does something, she goes big.

Personality: Veronica seems very laid back and careless, but in reality she is very calculating and cunning. She also likes to take advantage of the fact that she's an attractive woman, as is very attuned to all things beautiful and how to use that to the best of her ability. She also enjoys drinking, and many times she can be found with a martini or a glass of wine. She can hold it well, though, and it normally doesn't affect her judgement. When she gets angry, she gets really angry, so anybody who knows her tries to stay on her good side. When she is at her day job (ugh, gross) she takes on a very different persona. She's chirpy and cheerful, and acts very girly. The reason for that is because she has to keep suspicion away from herself, and act as normal as possible.

Appearance: As previously stated, Veronica is a very attractive woman. She's around 5'5", with a feminine figure. She has fair skin which is a stark contrast to her long black hair, which is wavy and usually covers her right eye. Her eyes are a dark shade of green. When she's doing heists, she usually wears skin-tight black clothing and her equipment. When she's meeting her clients or just lounging around her 'base', she likes to wear fancy cocktail attire and dresses. At work, she wear everyday outfits, nothing over the top.

Other: Her day job is working in an office for a fashion magazine.

Name: Nathan "Nate" Larson (Blarghhhh fail name)

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Law enforcement, thief, or other (if other, please specify): Thief. He would rather die than work as a law enforcement officer.

Personality: It's almost ironic that Nate's personality is the way it is, considering he is a thief. Nate is very arrogant, and isn't afraid to tell someone if he hates them or not, not caring about anyone else's emotions but his own. As one may be able to infer from his arrogance, he is also very selfish. It is unknown exactly when he started acting like this, but it may stem from bitterness over several fights with friends as well as a major break up with a girlfriend he had for about a year back in high school. This bitterness can be shown in his sense of humor, which is generally a little twisted and rather dark. Although it may seem near impossible to become close to Nate, it is possible, if he feels he can connect with someone. This probably means a super happy hyper person will never be able to get beyond Nate's barrier, though, since Nate hates those kinds of people. If one can friend him, he will still say rude things, but in a more playful way. Even if he isn't the brightest social guy in the book, Nate is very sharp, and is a quick thinker, just perfect considering he is a criminal.

Appearance: Nate resembles your average athletic guy, from his days of doing sports and the like back in junior high and high school (Although he still works out in order to keep in shape, as it's good to be in shape for heists). He is about 5'7, with a muscular build, and he has blond hair, always kept short so it doesn't end up requiring too much care. Nate has green eyes, which aren't really anything special, just plain old green. During the day, he will always go around wearing the standard male college student outfit: A t-shirt, a hoodie, jeans, and a pair of sneakers. When doing heists, he wears black clothing, for rather obvious reasons. Sometimes, he may wear other things, however, depending on where he's stealing from and what he chooses to do.

Other: During the day, lives as a college student and takes classes.

Accepted! :) Thanks for joining. Have some cookies! *gives cookies*

Vivi was walking home to her penthouse from work, her heels clicking as she traveled down the practically deserted streets. Click... click... click... She was never afraid of walking alone, not with her mace and her pistol in her purse, and her experience with hand to hand combat. Besides, she was fairly certain she was alone-- a strange phenomenon in New York, to be sure, but it happened none the less. She turned to glance over her shoulder, just once, before stopping at the college campus. There were rumors amongst her circle of associates that there was a very prominent thief who was attending one of the colleges. This had intrigued her, since she never really knew any good thieves who were around her age. Besides... she figured he could become a useful ally, as long as none of her enemies befriended him first.

(You're welcome! *Scarfs cookies down super rapidly*)

After a very tedious hour spent listening to one of his college professors ramble on about physics and advanced concepts in relation to Newton's Laws, Nate finally tucked his laptop back into his messenger bag, and then proceeded to leave the lecture hall. How he would love to not be attending college. But he kind of had to, since his parents were the stupid idiots they were, telling him he had to go to college because it would be the only way for him to get money. Big whoop. All he had to do was steal things to get money. It was so much more simpler, and more.. Thrilling. There was no way for Nate to describe the thrill of a heist, the thrill of putting together a plan to take something and then following through on it.

Anyway, he exited the building, and then began to walk to his apartment, which was near the end of campus. Even though it was a long walk from most of his classes, he had opted to live in the apartment because it would be better than sharing a dorm room with some idiot he didn't know.

Vivi scoped out the students leaving the lecture hall, and then she spotted the one who had been described to her. Dang, he was actually pretty good looking. How fortunate. She strode toward him, easily blending in with the college students. She herself had gone to college, but she had gone when she was only 15. An unusually bright child, they had said, a gift for knowledge. Little had they known that she was so smart because she knew she wanted to be the greatest thief of her time. And she knew she had to get a head start. Pulling herself from her reminiscing, she walked up to Nate, the shadow of a smile on her face. "Excuse me," she said softly, "you wouldn't happen to be Mr. Larson, would you?"

Nate was busy trying to mull over what to do when he got back, when he was interrupted by a woman who looked to be just a little older than him. Although one could easily mistake her for another student, something about her appearance told him that she wasn't a student. He frowned, and felt like he recognized from somewhere, but he could not quite recall exactly where. Well, no point in denying who he was. "I am. But before anything else happens, tell me who the @($&(@* you are."

"Temper, temper," she said calmly, her smile growing a bit wider, showing her teeth. "My name is Vivian Finch. I'm somewhat a celebrity of our field, if you catch my meaning." She took him by the crook of the elbow and gently pulled him aside, casting a wary glance at the other students who happened to be milling about. "I thought I would introduce myself to you, seeing as you're quickly becoming the talk of my circle of associates. And we're very impressed by your "resume". I was wondering if, perhaps, you'd like to join me for dinner sometime, and maybe we could discuss business? If not, though, I completely understand. Just know that there are other people who have it in for you, and, well... it can never hurt to have an ally or two on your side." She removed her hand from his arm and let the smile on her face soften. "And, truth be told, I always like to help a fellow artist out."

Huh. Nate had heard of the name Vivian Finch before, and he had heard of some of the heists she had pulled off before. He frowned when she pulled him aside, and he couldn't help but wonder exactly what she was after. Well, on the bright side, she wasn't one of those super peppyish girls who he always wanted to just knock out. He listened through what she had to say before he replied, "Sounds interesting. But what's in it for me?"

(Ughh faill posttt)

"Well, I'll pay for your dinner, bus fare, whatever you'd like, in terms of the meeting. And whenever I work with an associate, I like to split the earnings fairly. For example, when I work with a partner, i split the earnings fifty fifty. If it's a painting I truly love, I keep the painting and reimburse you for half of the painting's value. Not many other members of our society would give you such a generous offer. Which is why I have very few enemies. I've heard of your work, and I will openly admit that I'm very impressed by what you've shown so far. I know there is much I can learn from you, and there is much you can learn from me. Petty crimes-- well, you were made for bigger stuff than that. What I do goes on an international level. If you want to be one of the best, you have to work with the best, if you know what i'm saying." She placed her hand on her hips and grinned at him with her Cheshire cat smile. "I think you have the right stuff."

Something about this woman made him feel he could trust her (Probably the fact she didn't seem like the peppy, airheaded type), so Nate finally just replied, "Very well. I guess I can spare some time to meet up with you, then." Although Nate really wasn't the type to go for allies, he decided to just see what he could get. He quickly glanced over to make sure none of the other students were hearing in on this, because he knew that any sane person would be made suspicious by hearing about this conversation. "When are you free?"

(Urgghh totally failing at posting for this RP xPP)

"I'll be free at six tonight. I have a reservation at Chez de Cuisine. Coat and tie required, but I'm sure that will be no problem for you," she told him, taking a small flask from her purse and taking a swig. With a contended sigh and a quick shake of her head, she put the flask away. "It's quite a walk from here, though, so I'll be sending a cab here at 5:30 sharp. Please don't miss it, or I will be quite put out when you don't show up. I'll have paid for your cab fare already, so don't worry." She winked at him, then added, "Make sure you aren't followed, and that nobody else finds out about this. I wouldn't want to jeopardize either of our covers, you know."

Nate nodded, but showed no change in expression in response to the wink he received. "Yeah, yeah, got it. I'll be there for sure. I'm not one of those @#&*@#% who fall back on things like this." He nearly added under his breath, "Like my #$*($# of an ex", but didn't. He simply just gave her another curt nod and a simple "See you later" before heading off, not looking back. He had to go dump his stuff at the dorm, and then do some planning, and then afterwards, he'd have to go to the dinner. Although he was a little wary of having to discuss his secret job with someone else, he couldn't help but be intrigued by what they would be discussing later that evening.
