By soft pet, you mean the plush? (The reversable one)
Personally, I don't think it is worth the $50.... More like half.... If that. They are rare in box... but if you are going by ebay prices... Many of those are over priced in hopes of selling for more then they should be.

I generally don't trust eBay (and other online auction site) prices due to the crazy artificial inflation that goes on.
In the end, it's only worth what you're willing to pay. If that price seems like too much, then it's too much.
I personally wouldn't pay that much money for one. Maybe around $20, but no more than that.

Aw I saw them on eBay! So cute... But they ARE too expensive, although they are pretty rare.
