This is a kind of warning.

I learned this today that if you buy something, the item being called into question here a Tamagotchi, and are in the United States, you can spend a lot of money trying to get a refund from anyone overseas.

Please be careful what you get and where you get it from! I will not say who it was on eBay but this is what happened with me.

In order to get a refund with buyer protection you will have to send the item back first to recieve your money. That is fine. But to insure that the item gets back and that the person actually gets it you need to enter a tracking number. If you do not know the seller how will you knw if they are being honest about if the item was received? A tracking number is a must in this situation.

If you are in the United States and you are trying to send something internationally with a tracking number it can be $38 plus. I know I may sound stupid for not knowing this in the first place but I am sure that there is at least one of you on here that doesn't know this!

There is really nothing else you can do especially if, as in my case, the seller won't work with you.

I am posting it here because I feel that some of you may not be aware that things like this could happen. I know I wasn't and I have been using eBay for a while now. They did issue me $20 of eBay credit but what good will that do me?

The item doesn't work and I lost $20.

A good lesson that others can learn from my experience.

{if by chance I got this thread in the wrong place please move it}

My parents don't like buying stuff online, they won't get me a Tamagotchi Plus Color or Tamagotchi iDL online. Better safe than sorry, I guess. I'm sorry you lost 20 bucks, you could have bought something awesome with that money. Or saved it for the future.

That really sucks...why wouldn't it work?

Same, that's why I can't get one either.

Some sellers do often refund without returning the item because they don't want negative feedback.

Best to be safe than sorry though and order from somewhere closer to home.

Aw, I feel bad for you! Dx

I only buy stuff off of amazon, I only buy stuff on eBay that my dad approves of. I mean, stuff that looks exactly as advertised. But the stuff I buy on amazon, I only but from amazon themselves, and users who are fulfilled by amazon so I know I can trust them.

Plus, I like the free super saver shipping xD

I would say that if the seller didn't provide tracking in the first place I would not extend the courtesy back. I would simply keep the receipt and clearly mark the date and where it was shipped to and send them confirmation that way if they requested it. Though, come to think of it - I think paypal is a bit odd with getting money back without tracking blah blah blah..... Paypal and ebay can be a pain in that instance. :/

That's a bummer that you are out a few bucks though. :<
