Pain. I know it's blasting through his body. I know he's crying for his mother. But a job needs to be done. His shrieking makes me decide. I decide to stop. I stop the kicking, and punching, and pull him up. Something inside me wants to tell him to go away. But before I can even open my mouth, he talks.
"Let go of me! Let go! Now! I will call the police! 3 buttons and you're in jail Missy! I said let go!" He screams. As I predicted, he is a bratty little kid. Now I really want to tell him to go. But I still stand there, amused by this little kid.
"Okay. But hear me. You are just a little kid. Be careful." I say, forming a half smile on my face. Before I can stop it, tingling surges through my body. I form into a complete copy of him, and I watch him jaw drop in confusion and wonder.
"Wh-who-uh-wh-what are you! Get away from me!" He cries. I know I can kill him here right now. Right this second. But I stay put.
I say it calmly, hoping I don't frighten him, but it does.
"My name is Imogen. The Masked ShapeShifter."
