Okay, so... I'm about to ask my mom for money to go towards the tamagotchi ID L, however, I need to know all the great features compared to an ordinary tamagotchi, so I can debait with her on why I want one ;)

So why should I get an ID L? What is it compared to an ordinary tamagotchi? Why is it so expensive?

Many many thanks,

Dixie

Well first of all the screen is higher resolution and also in color! I also found the buttons to be more responsive but idk if that's worthy of bringing up? You could tell your parents how your favorite characters are on it and that it's a larger Tama so it's harder to lose but it's not too large to take around. You can also bring up that you can buy new backgrounds for your rooms and plant stuff to sell. There is also the ability for your Tama to have a pet. You can tell them that for under ten dollars you can buy an IrDA USB dongle to download even more content to your iD L including some really fun games. And if you want to go through the trouble of it, you can also create your own clothes and backgrounds for your Tama and to add to that part you can say some bull like "the ability to customize my tamagotchi to that extent will help me develop my creativity skills" lol, I hope this helps!

^^^ all of that. plus there's so much to do you won't get bored of it....EVAR!

you should tell them because it's the best tamagotchi out so far! it's got a color screen, who wouldn't love that? i don't own one personally but i know someone that does and they let me take care of him when i come over, and it's so much fun! i made a background for it that was a usa flag and he looked like he was enjoying it!

It's just....a ton of fun, and the color display is really worth it. One thing, though: I think I might have gotten a bit bored with it if I didn't have access to the downloads with my USB irDA dongle. There's plenty to do on it, but without the extra games especially, it might get boring.

...it's so much fun dressing the Tamas up, I have to admit.

Well that depends on the person I think. I probably would have gotten bored of mine without the dongle too but I know someone who has an iD L and no dongle but she says she's obsessed with it

Right, that's why I said it might...a bit like a Tama-Go with no Gotchi figures. Still fun, but maybe not worth it for everyone. The fact is that the iD L was made with the downloads in mind, just like the Tama-Go was made with the Gotchi figures in mind. It's a big factor to consider when purchasing. :tarakotchi:

Thank you so much, everyone! Sounds so cool! I'll definitely bring your points into my debait! xD If anyone else has any other great points, please feel free to add them! The first thing my mom'll say is: "HOW MUCH? Why would you spend that on a tamagotchi! Don't you have enough already?"

I need some good points to impress her xD

Well, here's what I told my mama...

"You can customise your Tamagotchis house and change the way the room looks, and they can grow seeds in their very own garden and they can adopt a little pet of their own!" :D

That should help too. :)

One more thing, if you have ever had this problem (I used to lol) where you want to play a short game on your tama but then you have to go do something after you've started it and it just lasts too long so you have to tell your mom "hang on", well the games on the iD L only last 30 seconds each, which is a lot shorter than the games on most version, so you can tell your mom that there will be less "hang ons" and more "just give me literally less than half a minute" XD

Let us all know how it goes!

Last time I saw GotchiGuardian in chat, she said her mom wouldn't let her get one. :< But hopefully with these new ideas she will! :D

Yes, definitely! xD I'm gonna try my dad, who loves games and such. So far I asked my mom if she would buy me one for an early birthday present - she said no, however, if I bring in the subject that I'll pay for it with birthday money, plus tell her all about the iD L, instead of going like, "Mom, theres a new tamagotchi for £40, and..." being cut off with "NO WAY!" I can see that the answer might be "well, its your money...."

We'll see!

I think that after I've left it a bit, and when I have the money, the answer from my mom will change. So far, my mom associates "tamagotchi" with annoying black-pixeled bleeping things, (all be it with fun games, haha [that don't turn off when she wants you to, yes exactly brittygotchi xD) so no wonder she thinks £40 is a lot of money for one. Maybe when she sees that this is in colour, and I've never had one before, she shall agree...

Show her some videos on Youtube of what it looks like. Also, if the noise annoys her, you can turn the sound off. I'm pretty sure if I was a parent and my kid was asking for an expensive tamagotchi, I would laugh... haha~ But, if you are really into it, show them that you really want it, talk to them calmly and give them some information about it. Maybe one of their concerns are that you would enjoy it for a week, then toss it aside and never play with it again... I could see some parents thinking like that. Or perhaps they think it might distract you from your other responsibilities, such as school work and chores. Hopefully you can compromise with them~

superdonut - yes, I agree with you, thanks - I think that my mom does think that I would play with it too much, and doesn't believe that I should be "kept quiet" by some toy, this is mainly because when we're homeschooling, I pause my tamas until we end - 3 o'clock, but my siblings? They can't put it down!! Plus all we can hear is that repeative calling-beep! xD But oh well, they're getting bored of tamagotchis now, so its less hastle ;) When I leave it a bit, and show her my saved-up money, I think she'll agree....

UPDATE: Things are looking GOOOD! I was with my mom as she looked at her ebay watch list, and she saw the ID L there.

"Is this the tamagotchi you wanted?"

I did a double-take - so she hadn't ignored my "request"!

"Yes..."

"But you've already got one of them!"

"No no - thats a Tama-Go! This one's in colour...."

Her eyebrows raised a little. "Oh, wow..."

There was no definite "forget it" like last time - actually, now she knew it was in colour, she was near to interested....

We'll have to wait and see when I have the money ;)

Oh~~ It's good that you are on the right track~~ Hopefully something good will come out from this~ :D
