I haven't seen a topic that is basically just showing people the outrageousness of certain items.

For instance, 6 Beanie Tamagotchi Plushies, is currently sitting at $96... Is it just me or is that just plain ridiculous?

I was wondering if anyone has seen items or Tamagotchi's like this with a price tag that's so horrendous?

Ah, they're vintage plushes...vintage merch tends to be VERY costly and rare, and that is probably why they are selling them for so much. It makes each plush roughly $16, which is actually not too bad compared to some stuff I've seen, but you are right...It IS ridiculous especially because those plushes are just so dang UGLY

I love the Mametchi plush, but he's kinda weird... xD

EDIT: OMG the postage is almost $50!

Vintage stuff is expensive mainly because these particular tamagotchis are not produced anymore and only collectors have them. I guess 96$ is a bit too much, but not the worst price for plushies... The postage is outrageous though!

Pricing has always been subjective - and no matter how costly an item is or not, it will always depend on the seller.

Even if I was the type to use Ebay I can't see spending $96 on Tamagotchi plushies when I could spend it on the real thing. I'd much rather have a real Tamagotchi than a stupid stuffed animal.

And yeah, it does depend on the seller. But still, its surprising, with how easy you can research the fair pricing of Tamagotchi's, that people are looking to milk whatever they can out of the fandom. I'm one of the people who likes to get as much for something as I can, but i'm not going to sell a tamagotchi for triple the price its actually worth. People wouldn't buy it if its not reasonable.

That first link you posted isn't too bad...it makes each Tamagotchi about $15, and the Gotchi Figures free. However, $60 per V4.5 in the second link is outrageous...V4.5 is a sought-after version, but $30 is the most I can picture it being sold for.

Some people also charge an exorbitant amount for shipping, because they don't have to pay ebay as much money if the cost of the item is lower. They make up for the price in shipping which is illegal in ebay's rules.

I actually think those are pretty reasonable. The V4.5 is a little pricy, but I've heard that's a rare shell. The postage on the first one is too much though. But without the postage, that's actually very reasonable. Thanks for linking me to it, actually, I might buy it...

For the v4.5, most of the designs I see are the:flames, globe, stained glass, and the clear green design so with that in mind those Globe designs are outrageously priced. IMO. It's subjective though on their worth and some people known people would pay for that price so it's how they justify it. I also agree on postage that a previous person mentioned, it's one of the ways to bypass the Ebay fees.
