I was looking for a giga pet or dinkie dino to get my friend for xmas and I came across this on amazon. I've never seen a Dinkie Dino so I cant tell if its a fake, the reviewer says it was a fake or a giga pet.

Anyone who knows a bit more about these that can tell me what this thing is? I zoomed in on the picture, it says Dinkie Dino but it has a little dog on the logo.

Yup, that's a fake one.

Dinkie Dinos don't come in transparent colours, and there's no SELECT1 and SELECT2 button labels in the real ones.

Yes, there are quite a number of knock-offs on regular colours as well. Another one to check is the screen. Genuine Dinkie Dinos' screens are wide rectangular, and some knock-offs sport a square screen, like this one.

Reading the reviews is pretty helpful too, and the reviews in your link don't seem to be convincing at all.

I just won a dinkie dino on ebay and my BF was asking about it so I started looking for another to try and win for him and I came across this Dinke Dino The packaging and shell look right, though the screen sticker is obviously wrong, and the painting on the dinkie looks wrong.

I dont think Dinkies say 'Electro Pet' and then the paint for the buttons looks off because I know on dinkies the paint goes from color to white, though there is no white in the painted portion of the wording.

Can someone who has a japanese dinkie confirm or deny this please? I am not 100% sure yet.

It looks fake. I wouldn't trust it one bit. A real dinkie dino is a real dinkie dino IE. no questionable parts about it at all.

I saw that this morning and yeah, I'd have to say it's a fake. Might be one of those multi pets that are junk.

It even says "dog" with a picture of a puppy on the plastic so definitely fake.

Never seen that packaging before. Can also see the English is horrible on it. The pets look legit to me, though, but I am unsure. Are these real?

Only the second link looks legit, but the picture is blurry. If you can request the seller for a clearer picture, I can examine it for you... I own a legit Dino.

All fakes except that second one but like Ichiro, you should ask for a better picture.

Those first fake Dinkies run off the Johnny programming (basically the same programming as the Johnny cat...which I did a video review of not long ago)
