On the instruction sheet, it says: CAUTION: do not aim pet at anyone. Does the infared thing send out signals or something? Why do they have this message?

I doubt it can harm anyone, the IR, but they might be taking precautions and writing down as many warnings as they can, in case some pesky person decides to sue them for something ridiculous. Maybe they mean don't throw it at someone? *shrug*
