I have been trying to connect my Japanese Color + with my English ID L, but it keeps giving me 'connection failed' errors? It will say connect for a split second, then give me the fail error. Is there something wrong with the infared on one of them, or is it maybe due to my tama's life stage? My ID L is a young adult, my Color + is a toddler, I think. I've never had another tama to connect with so I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.

Try this:

On your iD L:
In the Connect (heart) icon, select the third option.

On your +Color:
In the Connect (heart) icon, select the first option.

Once the standby screen on both devices appear, point their ports towards each other and press the middle (B ) button on either of them.

Thank you! That was the problem- wrong option selected on my color +. Whoops!
