Well later on this month I'm going to buy another tamagotchi (other than the P's) but I'm in a funk between the V4.5 and the V5. I want a V4.5 to have a tag team with my other V4.5 (and to have one with a keychain). I found the perfect design for it and a good price.

I also want a V5 because I really want to run a V5 and go on tamatown with it. I miss those old days with my first V5. I did find the right design, but not in my location, which will take awhile for me to come. But I did find one in my area with good pricing.

I personally like v4,5 way more, so I'd go with it. I like the design too.

I have to admit I prefer the V4.5 but I also really like the V5.

I won’t bother writing much of the V4.5 because you have one. I think the games are a lot more fun to play and easier, especially when you're walking about or in a rush or something but sometimes it gets a bit boring because I have a V4 and I feel they are very alike and I do like changing between the versions I look after than having them all the same.

I have a few problems I have with the V5. They seem really needy, they'll go to bed with full hunger and happy but when they wake up they're always on 1 or 2 hearts (It may just be me who has that). And I don't like the games very much, I think they're boring and if you're walking about it's really hard to play them and look where you are going. And, last thing, getting their bond to 100%, I find it hard and I really like having the Kuchipa family. Okay, good stuff now. The screen is larger and I really like that. I prefer the characters and the idea of having a family is really cool. When you do get a pure family you feel really awesome (I do anyway), almost like you achieved something really big but it's kinda small. If you have a pure family you get a pet. It feels to me like you can do more and you can change the family type if you want to.

But judging on what I've said, if I were you I'd buy the brand new V4.5 you want and buy a V5 later, preferably secondhand (because it's cheaper) in case you don't like it but if you do then you have one and you can buy a brand new one after.

The v5 is generally a rather unruly version, wich usually gets pretty glitchy after a short while.
I'd say the v4,5 is more dependable and classic, but if you already have one, you might as well want to try something new.
I wouldn't recommend you to buy a v5 second-hand, because of their glitchyness, so this might be a good chance to obtain one.
On the other hand, it's a pretty good price for a v4,5, as they are usually pretty pricy...

I personally wasn't a fan of the family series and I would trade my v5 for a v4.5 any day...but it's just personal opinion. I just don't understand the point of having two other tama's in the system when you basically only use the middle one. :/

Thanks for all of your guys answers. I think my answer is final, i'm going to go with the V4.5. It is the design I wanted and yes, they do go for inflated price. Also about the glitch on the V5 - they glitch after awhile? I've ran a different V5 (before it broke after dropping it down stairs ) for a lot of generations, but never got any glitches out of it.

A lot of V5s get battery glitches. One is that when the battery dies, the Tamagotchi buzzes and screeches and hisses and it doesn't save the characters it had. (I had this one and it was scary) Another one is what Dazzmina calls the bump glitch. There's a topic on here somewhere. I think I've seen/heard of some more glitches on the V5 as well.
The V4.5 is a great choice! I myself am not too fond of some of the characters, but the games and jobs are marvelous, even better than those of the V4.0. Have fun with your second V4.5! I like being able to connect two V4.5s, that way you can see the weird characters on both of them!

Well, the V5 takes up alot of battery, and it can get REALLY glitchy. Personally, I would suggest you get the V4.5 due to offering a nice list of characters you can get, and the games are probably better than the V4.

Oh, yes, I had both those and it was nightmarish with the scream-hiss thingy!!

Yeah, v5 even tend to reset themselves a lot for completely no reason. They barely use the items in any particular way (i mean, Entama is like this too, but at least it has something to offer...), the constant beeping for training is annoying plus for me characters aren't all that interesting. Plus, games are hard and prices are way too high. It has cute animations though, I have to admit. But if I would have to choose betwen third v4.5 or a second v5, I would choose the first option.
