Odd Pet/Virtual Pet Hatch Giving this another try

Common guys...I KNOW you guys don't all JUST have Tamagotchis. You must have one or two of those odd pets in your collection so let's showcase them here in an odd pet hatch! Any pet is welcome (dinkie dinos, yuki penguins, giga pets, nanos, gyaoppis etc...) except Tamas.

Hatching Begins: Friday November 9th and goes until the pet dies

Just respond here if you're going to participate and what odd pet you will be hatching!

I really hope we can get this going this time around my last attempt was a flop =p

If my KFC Digipooch gets here, I'll use that one. Otherwise, I'll try to mess with my Petogotchi Puppy. The darn thing is annoying to figure out.

i may do the nano baby and try for a girl since i never have run it for that. i only have run the boy

Alright, I'll be using my KFC Digipooch for the hatch. I might fiddle with my Petogotchi but I won't log it as my main pet.

Hey guys feel free to post today since it is official start day I will post later tonight! Kids + job mean I don't have time for posting till later :S

Alrighty then, I'll be the first to start. I reset my KFC Digipooch for this hatch. It's red with the KFC logo on the right part of the shell. (I'll post pics when I get to feeling better, early appointment for my son's surgery=tired family) Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with it since I recently figured out the early gigas get up really early and I'm more of a night owl. It might mean that my pet is occasionally "off" so it will sleep in with me and avoid premature death.

Anyway, I booted the little guy up just 5 minutes ago and he was born immediately. Being an earlier pet, they have no gender and fortunately no "needy baby hour" like Tamagotchis. I didn't get prompted for a name but this kind of v-pet allows you to change the name when you wish so feel free to shoot me ideas. It's kinda strange going from a tama to a giga even though the giga was my first v-pet so I might be unfortunate to kill this little guy off while trying to deal with the steep learning curve. (Hopefully I won't but I'm not holding my breath he'll live past 2 weeks.) Here's hoping that he lasts a good run.

P.S.- Hey, whiteclaw, I know you have a KFC Digipooch too did you have issues with the attention light coming on and the pet chirping constantly? I mean, my last run the little guy would chirp for no obvious reason and disciplining/taking him to the vet/ect him wouldn't do a thing. He would only be "okay" after giving him a treat. Do you know why that is?

And your vpet Mirukucha looks really unique. Is it a Bandai vpet?

So I decided to start up my MGA VR Creatures Unofficially licensed Godzilla (Basically a Nano dino with a few modifications released by MGA).

He starts off as a pretty big guy already but apparently he will grow more/change.



The shell is really nicely done



Enjoying a turkey leg...or could it be the leg of something else D:?



This pleases the Godzilla



Shortly after eating we played a few games. The first one is practice for future attacks. He has to block missiles as they're coming at him by hitting them with fire. He was great at this game. POW! The second game is weight lifting.



Then after all that hard work he was in need of a bath! Dirty Godzilla D:



Then he bit me and I had to discipline him :s



Now he's just roaming the streets trying to be a good Godzilla and wait to destroy buildings till his enemy appears!



He later fell asleep but I didn't get a chance to capture his animations before I turned the light off.

Yes, it's normal. The digipooch runs along the lines of the Nano programming. The nanos would occasionally need a treat when they were beeping. I guess it's a reward to make them feel better or something along those lines. If his stats look good but he's beeping give him a treat.

OH he could also be beeping because he needs a nap. Best way to tell is to try and play a game with him when he is beeping and see if his happiness just keeps going down even though you are playing games with him. If it is give him a nap.

Well, he doesn't seem to nap...unless I'm missing something. I've played games with him when he's chirped but his health/happiness don't go down, so I flip off the light but he doesn't show the sleep animation? Are they not suppose to when it comes to napping?

I'll be posting tomorrow morning...

Sigh, I don't know WHAT happened. I set the time back a little so I could sleep in without worry and I woke up to an angel on my screen. The score was 80 but at zero when I woke up and he was only up for maybe 30mins to an hour at the most without me. (He had full stats too.) I guess I'm going to have to drop out of the hatch since we're already been going for a few days.

If you want to re-hatch or try your Petogtochi you can don't want to be posting alone lol!

Well...Godzilla woke up before me and well......oops :s



Thankfully, he survived since he is a big strong Godzilla First things first...had to administer the medicine!



Then a few poop scoop sessions



And of course a bath since he was making dirty pawprints all over the place



We went through our normal routine of eating and playing and a little discipline when he stepped on a building. He's doing well but hasn't grown at all. I keep missing the chance to take a picture of his birthday cake hopefully, I'll catch it next year (tomorrow lol)!

I'll see if my Petogotchi will work alright. I still can't understand the menus well but I understand the basics and it seems to handle neglect better than my giga did. Just kinda sad that the little guy died so easily and I have no idea what I did wrong. Tamagotchi's are easier in that sense you usually know WHY they died as opposed to guessing and wondering why.

Giga pets are INSANELY HARD to care for :s Nanos are a little hardier and the random virtual pets out there are typically pretty easy. What are you getting stuck on regarding your petogotchi? I might be able to help since I have several MGA pets so I have a pretty good understanding of how they work.
