Questions about the tama profy?

I'm thinking about buying a tama profy c: theyre so cute and i love the fact that they are touch screen and in japanese (i understand a little japanese, and some people have put up translations so its all good (y) )
But im not really clear on what the object of the tama is o.o what do you do on it? whats the purpose? is it fun?
D: these are the questions that haunt me!

The purpose is to collect all 120+ Tama Hearts. It has a link to the anime series. Lovelitchi and Melodytchi use these to grab Tama-Hearts. c:
