Thinking of buying a Dinkie Dino, and a Dinkie Dino Fake for the shell?

I've been looking at Dinkie Dinos, and though I want to get one to play, I dont want to ruin the collector value by rubbing off the paint on the shell. So I thought I might get a fake one that has the same mold and just swap the housings, so I wont have to worry about damaging the original insides.

When Tamagotchis were big I use to swap the insides and buttons all the time to put together a working one out of broken ones, though I am not sure if Dinkie Dinos have parts glued to the shell. I noticed in the Tama ID L the battery section of the shell is heavily glued making it impossible to swap shells with out having to re-solder the connections for the batteries.

Does the Dinkie Dino have pieces connected to the shell with glue or soldering? I have the equipment to solder though I really rather not go to that extent.

I don't think that would work because the real dinkie's have a bigger screen than most fake ones.

Yes, the original Dinkie Dinos are equipped with a wide rectangular screen while most knockoffs sport a square screen and some even have different button layouts.

You don't have to be over-paranoid on getting the labels rubbed off. You can apply some protective solution over the labels with a clear nail polish or some other products. I did the same with the 15th Anniversay motif on my 15A iD L and it seemed to work as normal. Otherwise, you can invest in a small pouch for it.
