“Let’s have a contest! Like a competition or something!” said Dazzminatchi to Kiraritchi and Melodytchi. “A contest? Cool!” said Kiraritchi. “What do we do and what do we win?”
Dazzminatchi was carrying what appeared to be a laptop of some sort.
“I’ll tell you what the contest is later, but I’ll tell you what you win. I have made an awesome dolfinze laptop! It has a dolfinze desktop background, a dolfinze screensaver, and it plays dolfinze sounds!”
“Aw, Dazzminatchi, that’s awesome, I love dolphins!” said Melodytchi. “I know,” said Dazzminatchi, “me too! Now, Kiraritchi and Melodytchi, whoever wins my contest will win my dolfinze laptop!”
Melodytchi thought for a moment. “I really wanna win, and I’m gonna make myself giant-sized to increase my chance of winning! It’s probably like a race or mountain climbing or obstacle course or something, right?”
“That would be cheating!” said Kiraritchi.
“It’s not cheating!” said Dazzminatchi.
The Tama friends went to Mametchi. Melodytchi told Mametchi about Dazzminatchi’s contest, and asked for a growth ray gun. Mametchi quickly grabbed his special growth ray gun. “Melodytchi, just aim it at yourself and press the button and you’ll be giant-sized! High above the houses!” Mametchi said to Melodytchi.
“Awesome!” Melodytchi said, taking the growth ray gun from Mametchi.
“I still say it’s cheating!” said Kiraritchi.
Melodytchi aimed the ray gun at herself and pressed the button. One BZAP later and Melodytchi had become gigantic! What came next was a scream from Melodytchi. As usual, Mametchi’s invention had malfunctioned. It made Melodytchi giant. But it didn’t make her clothes giant.
Melodytchi grabbed some trees. “Mametchi, do something quick!” she wailed.
“Uh, um, my invisi-ray gun will make you invisible!” said Mametchi. He got his invisi-ray gun and tossed it up to the oversized Melodytchi.
Melodytchi fired the invisi-ray gun at herself. One BZAP later and Melodytchi screamed again. The invisi-ray gun had made the trees invisible (which Melodytchi was using to cover herself). But it didn’t make Melodytchi invisible. “Just once I’d like to see one of your inventions actually work perfectly!” Melodytchi shrieked.
In the confusion, Melodytchi accidentally stepped on the dolfinze laptop, smashing it to pieces. “Oops, so sorry!”
“That’s ok,” Dazzminatchi smiled happily, “I’ll just put it back together.”
Melodytchi then accidentally stepped on the growth ray gun, smashing it to pieces. “My growth ray gun!” screamed Mametchi. “It’s ruined!”
Mametchi accidentally sneezed on the pieces of the laptop. “No, Mametchi, the laptop! What have you done?!” screamed Dazzminatchi. “It’s ruined!”
Kiraritchi saw Melodytchi. “My eyyeees!” screamed Kiraritchi. “They’re ruined!”
It was a long day.
Eventually, Mametchi had managed to make Melodytchi’s clothes giant (they were rather ripped and torn when Melodytchi grew out of them so suddenly, but they were still better than nothing), and he spent hours de-sneezing the pieces of the laptop. Mametchi sighed, “de-sneezing isn’t a pretty job, but somebody’s gotta do it.”
Dazzminatchi then put the laptop back together. It was good as new. “Now let’s start the contest!” she said.
“I’m gonna win because I’m big!” said Melodytchi.
“This is a cuteness contest!” said Dazzminatchi. So Kiraritchi was randomly being cute.
“A cuteness contest?! Then there was no need for me to grow giant-sized!”
“And Kiraritchi wins for randomly being cute!” said Dazzminatchi.
“Phooey,” said Melodytchi.
Kiraritchi was about to use the dolfinze laptop, and Melodytchi had shrunk herself back to normal size and got some new clothes.
“Wait,” said Melodytchi. “Let’s use Mametchi’s cuteness detector! Then we’ll know for sure who is cuter!”
“Ok!” said Kiraritchi and Dazzminatchi.
Melodytchi got the cuteness detector and aimed it at herself. She checked the display: “Cuteness Level: 86%”.
Melodytchi aimed the cuteness detector at Kiraritchi, being very careful not to aim it at Dazzminatchi (they all knew that Dazzminatchi would cause the cuteness detector to go all the way past 100% and then explode). The display showed that Kiraritchi’s cuteness level was 98%. “I still win!” said Kiraritchi. “Fair and square!”
“Oh, well, I tried. Good job, Kiraritchi,” Melodytchi smiled.
“I hope you don’t feel left out,” said Dazzminatchi. “It’s okay,” said Melodytchi happily.
“Yay, I love Dazzminatchi’s dolfinze laptop,” said Kiraritchi, “Dazzminatchi couldn’t possibly become more awesome!”
But Kiraritchi was wrong. Dazzminatchi did become more awesome…
