Omg, it came today. I love it already but boy am I confused, I've tried reading all the instructions but obviously the English translation in them isn't amazing. And the leap from Tama go to this is immense.

I get the hungry stats. But what is friendship all about? And what are the dots underneith friendship for? Where has the happiness meter gone for playing games. Literally just guessed all the way to like the toddler stage. The attention icon kept coming up And I just guessed that if the hunger was full I needed to play a game but I didn't really know if I was doing this right?

Can tell im too used to the little black and white screens.

Someone just explain the basics to me and I'll figure out the rest Hahah also pause and mute? Can you do this?

It's the English version btw :)

The friendship meter IS the happy meter. You can increase it by playing games or feeding them with snacks.

The dots under the friendship meter are the happy symbols. Once they turn adults, look for these by finding out their favourite food items, toys, snacks and clothes. For each happy symbol you find, this extends your happy meter.

Muting - while you're on the living room/character screen, press both A and C buttons at the same time. There will be two options, ON and OFF.

Pausing - there is no native pause function in the iD L, but you can technically pause it by going to the clock screen and pressing both A and C buttons to appear like you're adjusting the time. Leave it there and set the time back to the current one when you're ready to take care of them again.

Ohhhhhh I think I get it now, so you don't have to keep the friendship bar full all the time like the hunger bar? Mines taking a while to get to full even though I've played games with her all night. I'm assuming it's a case of the fuller the better but it increases over time?

And thanks for the tip about pausing, guessing my Tama won't like being ignored for like 10 hours while I'm at work, so this helps a lot :)

It is advised to keep it full as well, just like the hunger bar. Winning a game awards more friendship bars than just playing the game itself.
