Angel and a Tamawalkie? The angels are nice and I think pedometer pets are interesting.

Well, I reccomend Angel & P1, or the early Connections (V4, V3, V2 etc.)

If you want something vintage, but also easy, P1 is the one for you. It's pretty simple but dosen't have much like the Shop and stuff. You might want to get it for collection purposes. V3 is a nice one, it might not be vintage but the features are balanced. It also has great Mini Games. If you want complex features and have a lot of time, buy the V5 Celebrity (To be honest, I only run Tamas like these in the holidays, so I don't really reccomend them). I checked your profile and it says you're running a V6 and a V5 at the same time...So maybe you'll like this one? The V4 is in the middle between simple and complex. The V2 is more simpler than the V3.

This explains it:

Vintage and very simple - P1
Vintage and very simple and fun (The characters and all..) - Angel
Kind of simple - V2
Simple & Balanced - V3
Between Simple and Complex - V4
Between Simple and Complex with a few more additional features - V4.5
Complex - V5 and V5.5

One of my favorites is definitally the v4.5 . I donno if its cause theres a bunch of new strange characters or if i like all the features. ( Tamas with more features attract me, i dont just want to stare at my tama bored)

Well..to be honest...If you check out a DVD Shop or a Charity Shop, you might find Party On for a cheap price! I got mine (used) in a DVD shop for 3 pounds (Let's say about $5?) and it works perfectly! You might consider getting a Tamagotchi with that
