Being in a new place can take some adjusting. It takes even more adjusting when you're in a whole different world. When events take you by surprise and you're completely unprepared, it can be scary. My whole life changed unexpectedly on a day that started like all the others.

I awoke to the sound of chimes. My Tamagotchi were already up. They seemed to be reminding me to get ready for work. I heeded their call and got all set. While I was walking to the door I tripped on my over-friendly cat. As usual my mother was outside in her car waiting to bring me to work. As we were off to work one of my Tamagotchi's beeped.

"What was that?" my mother asked.

"My Tamagotchi. They just want attention," I responded normally as if it was obvious.

"I can't believe you bring those to work. How old are you?... " she said disdainfully.

"I don't care. They be mah buddiess," I said while playing a game with one of them.

Nothing was new at work. It was quite boring. Burgers upon burgers like once upon a Kutchipatchi's dream. At times I'd sneak off for a drink of water and tend to my Tamagotchi. I kept them on a chain around my neck that hid quite nicely under my work shirt. Noone really cared that I had my Tamagtochi's. I even went up and showed them to my boss. Obviously I wasn't going to play with them while I was tending to the food. That would be dumb and unsanitary. I carried my Tama's whenever and wherever I could. They were my little buddies that were always with me.

After work I caught a bus to go home. Public transportation always bugged me. I played with my Tama's to help with the paranoia. Sometimes I would wish that life was simpiler and more fun. I shrugged it off as I got off the bus. I stopped by my mailbox before I headed home. Nothing besides bills. Blasted money hungry people.

When I arrived home I headed straight to my room. I placed my Tama's down and changed into something more comfortable. Looking at myself in the mirror I decided I needed something to "spice up" my look. I attached my fake fox tail to my pants solely for the sake of being random.

After plopping down I resumed playing with my Tamagotchi's. Having and maintaining full meters are a neccessity for a happy Tama. Finishing a game, I hear my cell phone chime, so I placed my Tamagotchi's down on my bed and walk away with my cell phone to get better reception. The conversation was annoying and boring. Oh how I hated talking on the phone. I returned to my room and found something out of the ordinary.

The screen was flashing on my ID-L. I assumed it was a glitch or a weird way to say "Hey, the battery is dying". As I picked it up the screen stopped flashing. The screen showed a picture of a random golden egg. I was so confused as this had never happened before. I tried pressing buttons but the C wasn't working. When I pressed the B button the Tamagotchi made a weird 'loading' sound and out popped a slip of paper from the side. This confused me even more. These things aren't supposed to be able to print or do anything of the sort. I took the slip out to examine it. Being nearly blind I couldn't make out what it said besides the last three words, "Please come outside".

It all didn't make any sense but I shoved the slip in my pocket and looked out the window. I couldn't make out anything, so I went outside. It was really late and quite dark out. I wouldn't have been surprised if a family of skunks crossed my path. Walking around my yard I saw nothing out of the ordinary. Giving up, I started to stargaze. I can always point out the constelations Orion and Cassiopia. As I was stargazing, something caught my eye. I light in the sky I'd never seen before. It began to worry me as it seemed to get brighter and grow larger, but I just stood there staring at it. Dumbfounded. It was getting really bright and seemed almost like daylight by the amount of light it was casting. I felt my conciousness slip away from me as it got closer and closer. The lights overwhelmed me as I blanked out.

I had the strangest dream. I don't remember much since I never really do, but I recall being greeted by what appeared to be a giant golden egg. It congraduated me for excellent whatever and said something about a reward. He mentioned a coupe other things but I really don't remember.

I was gently awoken by a warm breeze. I stayed laying down but thought to myself, 'hmmm odd late fall weather we're having'. I was resting peacefully until something brushed against my foot. My eyes bolted open and took in my surroundings. For some unknown reason I was lying in grass. The grass was far to nice and green to be my yard. I was starting to get scared for I had no idea where it is I had woken up. It was still quite dark and I was all alone. As I stood up, I felt both light-headed and top-heavy at the same time. I took a few steps only to loose my footing. I tipped over and rolled down the hill. Thankfully a tree caught my fall. Granted it hurt to have a tree smack you in the side at full force, but it calmed me a little bit. Lights were in the distance. They grew into buildings as I made my way closer. I came across a sign. It was colorful and seemed 'cartoonish' in a way. It read, 'PARK'. I looked back and felt quite dumb for it was obvious now that it was a park. I returned my gaze back upon the sign. The odd thing looked like it had a face. I was going to turn around but the sign made me do a double take. I could've sworn it blinked! I got closer to examine it better. It really creeped me out. I heard metal creak and the sign loomed over me. I just stood there, freightened. As it opened its mouth I screamed. The 'Good evening~' was completely drowned out.

I turned and ran as fast as I could. I felt a little stubby. The buildings were oddly shaped too and everything had a face on it. I had no idea where I was. Tears started to form. I felt lost and confused. Sidewalks were illuminated by happy signposts. Sirens were in the distance. I must have made a suspicious sight for the oddly shaped car pulled up to me. Not only did the car look strange, but so did the creature that came out of it.

"Excuse me ma'am, but it's far to late to be screaming out on the sidewalks," the cop said while adjusting his hat. I tried holding it in, but I just couldn't any longer.

"I-I HA-VE NO IDEA WH-WHERE I AM! I'm lost, con-confuse-fused. I-i-i...." I felt like a pathetic child as I wailed.

"D-Don't cry! I'll help you find your way home!," the cop pleaded out.

"H-how..? This place is wierd..." I sniffled.

"Hang on one sec. Please stop crying," he shined a flashlight on me.

I rubbed my eyes and ceased crying as the strange cop creature examined me.

"Hmmmm, I've never seen you before. You look Mametian," he said.

"W-what?" I asked. I had no idea what he was talking about.

"Would you like to go to Mr. Mametchi? Some also call him Papamametchi. He's a Tamagotchi world renowned scientist. He could help you out better than I can," the cop asked.

I hesitated for a moment, "....Wait... Tamagotchi? How?".
