Once your character reaches adult stage, the built-in foods no longer fill up the Hungry bar. You need to purchase food items on the shop.
To go to the shop, go to the door icon and select SHOP. The shop changes food items from time to time.

I think the built-in foods only fill 2 Happy/Hungry hearts.

Baby Milk is a snack. Feed it meals as well.
Meals and snacks can be bought from the store. If they still don't eat your bought meal, that means they don't like it. Try feeding them a different meal item.

If your tamagotchi eats too many snacks it gets toothaches. If it won`t eat the meal you give it your tama doesen`t like it. Go to the shop often and pick up new meals for you tamagotchi. Diffrent tamagotchi`s like and disklike certain things. There favorite foods will pop up with "Great!" on the screen. For example, my shimashimatchi ate a "bowl of meat"
and it said "Great!" on the screen and he was jumping up and down

And try to feed the tamagotchi only meals. This fills up the hunger hearts. To have a happy, healthy Tamagotchi, try playing games with your Music Star to fill the happy hearts instead of feeding it snacks, which make it overweight and give it toothaches.
