3DS for infrared?

I recently noticed the 3DS has a reaally small infra-red port on it.

Does anybody know whether this will work to transmit downloads for an ID L?

It would just be ideal compared to buying a USB stick (I'm not buying a phone for infra-red :/)

The wiiu also has one.

So far, no. It is not possible.

The 3DS's infrared port is used to communicate with the Circle Pad Pro.
