Are ID Ls needy in the freind stage because I'm in highschool and i need to concentrate at least a little

I check on mine every 2-3 hours when I am at work. I think it depends on the character, but I don't think the hunger or happy meters have ever completely emptied in those two-three hours so long as I had them filled up before I started work.

 
They are not as needy as the earlier stages, you can leave them for an hour or two and they'll just happily play around the screen.

A bit of warning with Kuchipatchi though, if you have him as a character, his Hungry meter drops really quick! Watch out for it ;)

 
I don't find them to be very needy at all

I'd be ok with leaving it for a few hours if I really had to. Once all their stats drop it still takes some time for them to leave
