I am going to be purchasing a Tamagotchi P soon, as I like the features and would possibly like one that could mate with my ID L that I have currently got. Im just wondering if it is possible for them to breed with each other?

I believe it can, judging from this manual scan 
You can see the words iDL 15th ver and princess spacy on a note box

The P's can play with and mate with the iD Ls, however you cannot send items back/forth.

I'm planning on getting P's, after seeing a lot of new cool features on it. I really hope it'd be released in English just like the iDL's.

Does anyone know yet if connecting with the P's counts towards obtaining secret characters on the ID L?

Yes, I just used my P's to get Hirotchi on my iD L
