Recently got an Idl-E

So, My iDL Just made a bunch of happy music and such and then I finally get to it, it's outside and its snowing. I missed what happened as I couldn't open my pouch fast enough, anyone know what happened? there also was a ice machine? in the items section now.

No i haven't connected before and this is my first generation.

Also for people who have one, what do YOU use for IR? what do you recommend ?

I have a Syba Fast Infrared USB adapter. I bought it in August and still can't get it to work. It might be me, it might be my USB thingy or my computer or my files, but I can't use it!

Actually, it worked twice. I got a wallpaper and a dinosaur hat.

So maybe you should stay away from the Syba Fast IR thingy.

I find with the USB to IrDA that I posted about earlier, you have to line it up just right at just the right distance, and then send the file immediately when it makes the sound it makes. It's hit or miss. Sometimes when I'm on a roll I can send file after file, and sometimes it's very frustrating and I can't get it lined up right (or something - I really don't know why it doesn't work when it doesn't work). But it was inexpensive and works well most of the time.

I use a Nokia N80, my bro's old phone ( which also became my phone when I lost my E71  ) and it's working great with IR transferring! Personally I suggest any phone with IR function, since it's the easiest and most effective. I've read a lot of complains about USB types. Although I wouldn't suggest BUYING a new one, or even second-hand ones. Maybe you could ask people you know if they have it, and just borrow it from them.
