broken tama-go

I haven't played with my tama-go for months, and my little sister lost her tama-go by leaving it at a restaurant. I decided to give her mine, but when I opened it to put new batteries in the springs where you put the batteries were rusty. (I might have spilled juice on it once) I put the batteries in and it was acting a little glitchy. I tried to ignore it but it just showed a line and stopped working. If I take the batteries out and put them back in then it works for a little bit, but how can I fix my tama-go for my sister? Thank you.

You need to open it up and clean it. This icludes the circut board, the springs and any white you might see. (and food/drink) that might fix it. If it looks wet at all, rice will suck up the remnants of the liquid.

You can get a Q-Tip and dab some alcohol in it and make sure there is only a little, then clean the springs. Also open the circuit board and make sure NOTHING is on the lighter green paths.

Take note, Alcohol (rubbing, nail polish remover, etc) can melt plastic. It might be better to not use it unless you know what you are doing. Cleaning it with q-tips is okay. Scraping stuff off with a toothpick or a flat-head screwdriver gently. (then rubbing off the mess with a q-tip or a cotton ball)

I'm sure you could use Nail Polish remover, my friend used that on hers & it didn't ruin anything.

Depends on what kind you use; mine literally eats the plastic

Yeah, you'd have to be extremely careful using nail polish remover. It does eat plastic (unless it's like.. dollar store brand). Definitely not recommended.

I would definatly suggest rubbing it with a Q-tip, or alcohal swabs. That's what I use. Then, try "flushing it" by resetting a few times, and it should be good as new :kuribotchi: But focous on rubbing thebattery readers and springs, and don't touch the microchip. You might end up breaking the Tama altogether, making the unit usless. Oh, and you could even contact the resturant your sister left the Tama-Go at. They might still have it ^_^

Edit: Also, rice can soak up any moisture in the Tama. Open it up, and put it in a bag of uncooked rice, and leave in for like 2 days. I saved my phone like this
