Symphonic Metal fuses two of my favorite genres- classical and metal. Being American, I rarely find anyone who loves this music as much as I do. The majority of the bands are foreign (Finnish, German, Russian) but most of the lyrics are in English. Some of my favorites are Nightwish, Epica, Within Temptation, and Pythia. Anyone out there know these bands?

I used to listen to symphonic metal, I don't remember the bands though...

Not sure if Malice Mizer and Moi dix Mois counts though. It's more of a japanese gothic metal/visual kei probably.

Sigh... Kind of ironic I was listening to metal when I was younger, and now I don't feel like it.

All I have is Funeral in Carpathia by Cradle of Filth. Kind of dark. I prefer it instrumental.

Oh, I used to listen to Cradle of Filth too. I even have a shirt from it somewhere...

I'm not sure if Haggard counts, it's more folk metal and it does have electric guitars in it... From what I remember, at least.

I absolutely love Within Temptation! It's one of the few things that make me proud of my country.

Evanescence has, in my opinion, good music too btw.
