So the other day I noticed that there was a small black speck on my tama-go's screen. At first I thought it was a dead pixel but then I realized it was a strange shape and was casting a shadow. Then I thought it was a smudge on the screen, so I tried to clean it off. No luck, it's not a smudge. I think it is actually a dust or dirt particle underneath the screen. Is there anyway to get it out? It's not harming anything but it is extremely annoying.

Here are some pics:

(It's towards the upper right)

As you can see it appears on every screen. So is there anyway to get it out?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Forgot to mention, yesterday the speck was smaller, so I think it must have shifted places or something... Does that mean it will eventually find its way out?

Oh man.... So there's no other way? How exactly do you take apart a screen?

Yeah it's a micro crack/fissure in the screen and the pixel 'ink' is leaking out. Usually happens if the item is dropped or pressure was applied to the screen in such a way it cracked. They are not fixable, the screen has to be replaced completely.

Ok thanks.. So do you know if it'll get any bigger? I'm fine with it now, but if it gets a lot bigger I'll probably buy another one. What do you think?

It probably will over time.

Think of it like a PBJ sandwich. You have a hole in the bread and the jelly is leaking out the hole. As you keep moving the sandwich around, more and more jelly will come out, the bread will get soggy, and eventually it'll fall apart. Sorta the same concept, moving the Tama around, vibrations from holding it and walking, pressure, etc, will cause stress on the micro fissures and more ink will leak out.

You see the same with car windshields that have a crack. Over time, the vibration from driving the car over rough road, and heck even the vibration of the engine on, will force that crack to spread across the glass.

Yep, it DOES sound like a pixel leak, but, on my v4, there were a few specks under the screen, and when I took it apart, I found the specks were just dirt and debris, so you never know, it may just be usual wear and tear that is easily fixed :)

The leak has definitely TRIPLED in size in about 1 day.. I think I'm going to have to buy a new one. :(

Take it apart. It may just be dirt. You never know. But since it grows bigger, it is probably a pixel leak. :( I would wear gloves while taking it apart.

Edit: P.S. Nice icon, Khipmunk! I LOVE Hamtaro! :)

It's gotten HUGE. I'll try to post a newer picture later, but I'm about 100% sure that it's not dirt. And thanks! I love Hamtaro too! ^_^

Oh. Ok. I just Google Searched "how to replace a tamagotchi tama go screen" and "tamagotchi tama go replacement screen". Didn't find any thing about how to replace a Tama-go screen.

P.S: I'm watching a Hamtaro DVD right now! The Hamtaro DVD I'm watching is Hamtaro Vol. 2: Ham-Hams Head Seaward. Yesterday I also BEAT Hamtaro Ham-Ham Heartbreak! But I used GameFAQs. Same way I beat Hamtaro Ham-Hams Unite a couple months ago.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention.

Tama-Gos don't have any plastic coverings for the actual screen. In this case, the pixel leak can't be a piece of dirt because the screen has nothing other than the faceplate cover.
