I noticed that there's been some fake v4 2 piece packs being listed on Ebay lately. They're from Thailand and they're not even called Tamagotchi on the packages. I wanted to point these out to prevent anyone here from buying them unless they wanted them for parts. Some are singles as well.

They are all being sold by this seller, so avoid buying any Tamas from them: http://myworld.ebay....umek_supermall/

While they do say "not Bandai brand" I just want to make sure that those here are aware of them so no one buys them on accident thinking they're real. And here's hoping others don't buy them and try to resell them out of package as being real either, so I guess the shell designs can be used as a ref to spot the fakes. (Not saying people here, but other people who buy them, realize they're fake, and resell without stating it. It happens often with bootleg Digimon.)

Still, for those who needs shells or buttons or whatever, it's not too bad a price I guess.

Anyone with an ebay account might want to let that seller know that they are bootlegs. (listing bootlegs as if they were the real brand name product is against ebay's ToS, I believe)

Perhaps they think "Tamagotchi" is a blanket term for virtual pets and are ignortant to the fact that Tamagotchi is a brand, and there's no such a thing as a non-Bandai Tamagotchi. XD

Well as I pointed out, they do list "Not a Bandai Product" in their description, so by doing that, they're not being dishonest. Something can be "Tamagotchi-like" but not be a Tamagotchi. So there isn't much we can do. It would be different if they hadn't added that in their description.

I actually saw these on ebay and almost brought them until I noticed they weren't by Bandai!

They are still being dishonest in the fact that they're listing them as a "Tamagotchi" product when in fact they are not.

Many parents would see that and think it was a legit Tamagotchi, and probably wouldn't even notice anything amiss about it not being Bandai labelled.

True. My dad was looking up virtual pets last night and then said he found all these for low prices, then showed me only for me to laugh and say they were all fakes. I'm just glad he never tried to buy any for me, I'd have had to break it to him that he bought fakes and wasted money.

EDIT: Failure. I posted on the wrong board!

EDIT 2: Might as well make use of this mistake. XD

It's a shame that so many parents are fooled into wasting their money on bootlegs like these. If the seller knows the product is a bootleg and yet still lists it as the brand name product, they're just scamming.

It ends in disappointed kids, wasted money, and furious parents.
