I have always wondered... If you were given a choice of one specified item, which one would you choose into the desert? Maybe tell why?

The items.

A full Canteen of fresh water or a fairly grown cactus plant? (cactus is about 2 feet tall, 24 inches)

Time frame: unknown amount of time

I would personally pick a cactus plant.

I would also pick a cactus, because you can drink from it if you cut it open (I think) but the canteen of water would only last so long, but if I could choose any item other than those it would be a cup and a piece of plastic, the condensation would build up and you'd get water xD

But yeah I would also go for cactus :)

 
I'd choose the water canteen - because I could drink straight from it.

I'd need something like a machete to cut open a cactus to get at the pulp and suck the water from it - and only one item is specified (not two) :p

 
cactus I believe! I would even cut it with my hands...[ouch] But it has "endless" water!

 
I dont think I would ever really want to drink from a cactus so...water canteen I guess
