I have a samsung galaxy tab 2. 10.1. I tried to download the idl files, but nothing works. It says.... cannot open file. What prog/app do I need? I googled it, but dont know exactly.
Are you trying to transfer the files using your tablet or are you just trying to download them? It would be better to try and download them onto your computer, extract them so they become JPEGs, and then transfer them using an infrared phone or USB...

LG T375 phone
An old windows xp computer thats very slow. I dont think it will work with me. Keeps crashing.
I dont know what im supposed to do. Any help will be appreciated. I wanted to get the downloads onto my idl. Are you saying that the tablet doesnt work by itself? I have to stick wit the computer? I really wanna avoid my computer........unless it is really necessary.

I can tell you for a fact no american sold phone or tablet has ever had IR in it... This was a UK and eastern fad that quickly passed with the addition of bluetooth. So best I could suggest get a USB IR device for your PC they are cheap. Android devices don't seem to work at all I will say this I have a asus infinity tablet with usb port on docking station and even tho it detects the IR and works with other things like my old calculator TI that has IF on it doesn't work with the tamagotchis guess ya can't sync it right since androids interfaces is constant connection or no connection no imbetween.
As for help with transfering from a PC here ya go http://tama-zone.com...showtopic=25127

The following may be helpful for beaming the downloads across to your Tamagotchi, after you have them on your PC.
A list of devices known to work, is here: http://tama-zone.com...showtopic=22536
Step-by-step instructions for SonyEricsson phones and Nokia phones is here: http://tama-zone.com...dpost&p=3394616
Step-by-step instructions for Palm-OS devices (e.g. Palm Treo 600) is here: http://tama-zone.com...dpost&p=3416315
Step-by-step instructions for Windows PC with USB-IR dongle, is here: http://tama-zone.com...showtopic=25127 and here: http://www.tamatalk....ost__p__3115126

Note: In the above topics you may find references to Tamagotchi iD or Tamagotchi iD L. The Tamagotchi iD-series and Tamagotchi iD L-series use different download files, but devices that can be used to transfer them, and the method of transferring them are the same.

If you don't already have a device with IR (which it seems like you don't), you'll have to buy one since there is no other way of getting iD L downloads. You can buy special USB things that basically allow a computer to use IR, or you can get a type of phone that has IR. The phones aren't expensive, they're not modern ones but quite old ones. Look on eBay, you can get second hand ones for a good price.
As for getting downloads - if you use a USB device, you'll have to get the files on your computer first. I recommend doing this whether you use a phone or a USB cable. I get all my downloads from Gotchiworld, which isn't in English but has functional downloads for every Tama there are downloads for. Follow the step-by-step guide recommended by binary to get the downloads to your Tama.
EDIT: Added link to Gotchiworld

If tablet doesnt hav ir, then why is there a Smart Remote used for lcd or plasma tvs? But I dont hav lcd or plasma just so u know.
I don't know, but if you can't see an IR sensor on your device, it doesn't have IR and you can't change that.

Remotes also use IR, but it's a different standard and it's transmit-only (a remote only talks; a TV only listens.) The IR communication with a Tamagotchi is bi-directional, so you need to use a cellphone/pda/pc that can both talk and listen. If tablet doesnt hav ir, then why is there a Smart Remote used for lcd or plasma tvs? But I dont hav lcd or plasma just so u know.
