Yes. When you select "Tamagotchi iD L" on the Tamagotchi P's connection menu, a sub-menu will appear. The two options are "play" and "propose". (Note: I don't remember, but having the Tamagotchi iD L propose to the Tamagotchi P's might not work; you might have to have the Tamagotchi P's propose to the Tamagotchi iD L.)
