ura characters?

what's the difference between normal characters and 'ura' characters? for example; young mametchi and ura young mametchi.

also, how do you get them?

Ura characters are a different form of selected characters. It's more of an alternative version of themselves. These characters are mostly exclusive to the UraTama and v4.5 but some characters has crossed over to some versions. There are obvious physical changes like your example Ura Young Mametchi has a tail and other examples is that Ura Memetchi has a wings and Ura Togetchi has wings too and rainbow wings. Out of all these, the most remarkable physical change is their "Ura Glow" or their blue outline. Hope this helps )

so, does that mean you can get ura characters on versions above 4.5 or is it really just a v4.5 thing, as the japanese version is called a 'ura'tama? also, is it japanese only? or can you get them on the english v4.5?

It's only available for the v4.5 and Uratama. The Uratama and v4.5 are different. The Uratama has blue pixels, no universal characters, ability to cook and is only in Japanese.

i thought the uratama was just the japanese version of the v4.5. how strange. is there a japanese language v4.5? with the same programming as the english? also, the entama is the japanese v4, right? or is it completely different like the uratama?

The Entama and Uratama has the same programming used. The pixels, sprites and the characters and the games are the only things that differ them. The v4 and v4.5 use the same programming too but they're loosely based on both the Entama and Uratama respectively thus, making some options available on the Entama and Uratama not available. But you can say that they are the English versions of the Entama and Uratama. And to answer your other question, No. There is no Japanese v4.5. )

oh so the v4 and the v4.5 were released after the entama and uratama? i though they were released at the same time. does the entama have blue pixels, also? or is it the normal black and white? thanks heaps for your help c:
