Tamagotchi P Pierce Data Stuck?

So...

Before I got my Tamagotchi Ps, I did a bunch of snooping about the deco pierce.

With all the confusion, learned that the pierces are not a one time use and can be passed around towards multiple Tamagotchi Ps.

Other details include:

- If you currently have a "transformed" character (for example, Kira Orihime from the Royal Change), once you remove the pierce and the link "expires", your character will revert back to Kiraritchi.

- If you are raising a character from a pirce (example "Lovelitchi" from Love-Melo), you can remove the pierce and keep the character, but you are not allowed to use a different pierce while you're using Lovelitchi.

- If you remove a pierce, the Tamagotchi will check it from time to time. If it detects that it has been removed, it will prompt you to reinsert it or the link will "expire" - means the added items will be gone (purchased items remain), and you're trying to raise a pierce-specific character, it will no longer work and you'll end up with a standard built-in character depending on your care.

The question: What could be the problem?

Well... I booted up my Tamagotchi Ps from the Melody Land set.

Played around with it until reached toddler stage. This is day two.

Decided to plug in the Melody Land deco pierce.

Connected it. Literally yanked it out like a minute later.

The data from the pierce was still on the Tamagotchi Ps.

Was told and read that the link between the Pierce and Tamagotchi Ps will expire within however much amount of time. (Dont panic!)

...Now... The thing is, it didnt go away.

My Tamagotchi Ps still holds onto the Melody Land data.

...and then my toddler grew into a teen which now grew into an adult.

EXCEPT... I got a pierce exclusive character. (Blue music note dude whose name I dont know nor am I familiar with all the other Tamagotchi names.)

Uh... Well... This isnt supposed to happen now should it?

It certainly defies what I was told about the link expiring...

And this basically means I cannot use another pierce until my current Tamagotchi runs off?

I can still access everything on the Melody Land pierce without having the pierce on.

Mind boggling...

Other note, I want to collect all the puzzle pieces for blue guy. Got one from playing the piano that the Melody Land queen (I think thats what shes called) gave me. Theres is a thread regarding the puzzle pieces however it does not contain certain pierces (not updated).

Nothing is being "defied", nothing is mind-boggling. All is well.

The expiration period takes several hours (some even reported that they lasted for a full day). The device does not check the piercing every second.

Apparently you've done a pierce-specific character condition while the data has not yet expired, therefore giving you that character. Pretty self-explanatory, right?

Each pierce-specific character's favourite items are mentioned on the pages included on your set... I've mentioned before that they're in Japanese.

Looks like you've obtained the character Rinkurutchi (by playing the Melody Land game 3 times or more while your character is a teen), his happy items are:

いせいのどあめ (Candy; from Music Cafe)

かんばんケーキ (Keyboard Cadel from Music Cafe)

メロディスープ (Melody Soup, from Restaurant)

If you're thinking of unplugging your Melody Land piercing, you can now do so, but you cannot use any other piercing while you're using that character.

To confirm, the piercing only made contact for a minute. It has been unplugged all this time.

I think today has been the third full day that the data has been lingering though... I guess this is the longest so far that has been reported? I will continue to keep watch, cant do much anyways considering I now hold an exclusive character.

Thank you very much for the puzzle piece information. Just a bummer I cannot read any of the things on these papers but you did open up something for me. Looking at pictures with an attached understanding.

I just need one more puzzle piece. Strange though, because all tamagotchis only have 3 "happy items" for puzzle pieces... What would be the final piece?

Three days? That's interesting. Mine usually expires within 12-24 hours.

The fourth one will automatically be given 48 hours after your character becomes an adult.

Hmm... I'm starting to think that since you're using a "Melody Land" set, maybe (emphasis on "maybe") the device has been pre-programmed to retain the Melody piercing data? Once you get a new character, can you try linking a different pierce and taking it out again and see how long the data persists?

I was tempted to wed him off after reading some other thread about how someone elses Tamagotchi got hitched within hours of becoming an adult. ><!

Is there a correct way to taking off a pierce because it seems to be stuck tight and I dont want to end up breaking anything by forceful yanking... Especially some pierces dont have a good grip.

No, just take it off very gently and that's pretty much it.

All the data-transferring things are done during the "linking animation" (where those "bomb-like" things are falling off over Dream Town, LOL) so the pierces can be taken out anytime.

It appears that the link between the pierce and tamagotchi has expired. Took long enough.

Also was able to get the last puzzle piece. I dont know what you get for completing though.
