If it meant the V6/Tama-Go TamaTown would reopen, would you purchase a subscription for membership?

It wouldn't have to be a monthly subscription; there could possibly be yearly or even lifetime subscription offers.

Bandai US could also keep the guest access free as a free demo or trial, so potential customers know what they're getting into beforehand.

Since no Tamagotchi toy in stores is tied to this TamaTown anymore,

the site would have to be funded for something other than advertising.

I wouldn't but that's only because I don't like TamaTown. If I did like it, I'd definitely pay.

I think it would be much easier on everyone if Bandai America simply released Tamatown in an app format for everyone to download onto their phones.

I would purchase a subscription if it meant being able to use TamaTown again, but I don't know how popular the site would be if it was pay-for-access. Maybe it could be like Pandora, or the Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. app, where you can only use the site so much before you have to pay, or just pay if you want a site with no ads.

I do agree with Ra on the TamaTown app. That does sound like a good, innovative idea that would keep up with the times. However, I'd hope they also keep the online TamaTown for people who do not have smartphones.

Part of the fun of the Music City / TamaGo TamaTown site was that you weren't alone on the site. You could meet people and visit their apartments, to compare how well you were doing in comparison.

I personally wouldn't pay for a subscription because you don't NEED the website to enjoy the tama. But I also agree with Ra- if it was an app, it would be much more appealing to me and I would definitely consider purchasing it.

Ra,

Not everybody has a phone. :|

I would pay because Bandai needs more money to make Tamagotchis and because I WANT TO TRY TAMATOWN.

I find that a setup similar to Moshi Monsters would work well for an online Tamagotchi Town. Basically, it's free to register and you get the basic features, but there's premium content that can only be accessed by members who pay a certain monthly/biannual/annual fee. Another option is similar to how some Facebook games work, where there is a separate currency that can be purchased with real money, in order to purchase premium content and access other areas where members without this extra currency could not.

The first option is good for getting a fixed amount no matter how much the member uses after their payment. The second option is good for those who want to keep purchasing more and more to access more and more. I prefer the first option... I've purchased a 1 Year Membership on Moshi Monsters for $45, which works out to be only $0.12 a day, and I find it well worth it.

... and I realise that I've kind of strayed from the question, but if TamaTown were to be brought back with a price attached to it, I would consider paying, but it really would depend on the price, and the period/method that it had to be paid. If it was something ridiculous like $10 a month, I wouldn't, but if it was in a similar range to MM, then yes, I probably would.

I honestly like what SamJJE101 said. If it was was set up like Moshi Monsters then I'd see it working out, Cause Moshi Monsters have been up and running non-stop, I believe. It's just Bandai's gonna have to want to do it and with all the pep (Sarcasm) they had for the Tama-Go, I don't really think they'd do too much. It's a long shot but it could and should happen.

It wouldn't be a one time fee like when someone buys a Tamagotchi or Tama-Go, it'd be a continuous fee, honestly it's dumb not to do this idea, unless they have something else planned. I don't know but I feel they wouldn't bring it back cause the lack of popularity. It's been a while and I don't think they'd bring it back after being inactive. I've been out of the loop for a while so I don't what has happened I just know I haven't heard anything from Bandai America.
