Questions about ID L Happy Mail/Letters

Ok, so I know that you can get happy mail and letters in the mail, on the ID L. But...

-What is it for?

-Where do you get the mail?

-I kinda get how you have to give the happy mail to 3 or more people, but, how does that work?

-So you can only get mail by downloading it onto the ID L?

Sorry I have so many questions! -_- :p

 
A Happy Mail is a sort of chain letter. On the Tamagotchi-iD L series, some items can be sent-by-IR from one Tamagotchi-iD L toy to another (in the same manner as a download file is sent from a cellphone to a Tamagotchi-iD L.) If you send a Happy Mail from your Tamagotchi-iD L to three other Tamagotchi-iD L, you'll receive a prize. The prize depends on the Happy Mail (it's hidden in the Happy Mail download file). Some Happy Mail contain 2 or 3 different items; which of them you get is random. The prize could be a meal or snack (some get delivered directly to your character's refrigerator for free; others are added to the Restaurant or TamaCafe menu), an accessory (that gets added to the TamaMori Shop inventory), etc.

So you have to have 3 Happy Mails? And, thank you!

 
No... you receive one Happy Mail as a download from your cell phone (or as an IR transfer from another Tamagotchi). Then to get the prize, you have to send that Happy Mail from your Tamagotchi to three other Tamagotchis (and you can't cheat by sending it to the same other Tamagotchi three times.)
