Completely ignoring the book, I went outside. It was raining, the drops were soothing my boiling skin, making me feel better. Suddenly, I heard my mum open the door, but she had bad news. I could tell. She started simple. "Why are you soaking in the rain? Without a coat?"
"It feels nice." I replied. It really does, though. I haven't done this for years. Most of the time, except for school, I'm always stuck with computer games or game consoles, this is supposed to be out of my league. After a long pause, I cook up a conversation. "So, mum, when is my Tamagotchi coming? It's been almost two weeks--"
"I don't really know, please don't think about toys or whatever for now. Your dad has lost his job, and we don't know what to do now. We could only survive when he got money from his job, that's the only way we could get food and pay for rent. We're broken now Amy, we don't know what to do."
Bang. She closes the door shut.
I'm still here in the rain, cold and wet. I lay myself in the grass, her words slipping into my mind again. Your dad has lost is job, and we don't know what to do now. I start day-dreaming of different things - Winning a lottery, A free shopping spree in one whole mall, no rent and even everything free for our whole life. Life is just complicated. But, hey? I can dream right?
"Ugh! It's raining! We're all muddy and wet!" Memetchi said, trying to follow the group. They're about the size of lawn gnomes. I wonder if they stand still when you try to look at them, too. "We have to do this! We need to find a human so she or he can guide us to places." Mametchi calmly replies. Kikitchi whispers to Mametchi, "It's going to be hard to handle the girls.."
At last they find me, watching the grey clouds disappear as golden rays peek through the holes. "Um, hello there." Mametchi said with a smile.
"WHO WAS THAT?!" I shouted, dashing my head from side to side. I was shocked. Very shocked. Slowly, I began to sit up as if I took sleeping pills.
Yumemtchi tapped my knee. "We're over here!" She shouted in her cute, squeaky voice.
I cover my eyes without looking at the little cartoon characters. "Go away you bugs! How can you talk, are you trying to bite me or something?" I stand up but fall to my knees again. Who wouldn't? There's obviously no one in this world who saw cartoon characters come to life!
"We're very sorry for frightening you. Let's go to your room so you can hear the full story." Kikitchi smiled, I nodded and examined his monkey head. I thought to myself "He must be from the monkey species on earth, so maybe these things are earth creatures." Ha, I guess I was wrong.
We all snuggled up in my room and they told me about the full story. How Tamagotchi Planet was dead, how the Gotchi King called Mometchi--I mean Mametchi, how they had to find the jewel pieces for their circle or whatever. Last of all, they asked for my help.
"By the way, we have something to give you!" Memetchi squealed in excitement. I was confused.
