hey i've been wondering for a while if there is a way to tell the difference between a v5 and a v5.5 WHEN THEY AREN'T ON! Since most ebay auctions or listings don't have the product turned on

The shells.
Most of the v5.5s look more "flashy" since they're celebrities or something.

Well, for one, you could ask the seller, and look at the design.
V5.5s have different designs than Normal V5s.
For example, one of the V5.5s have a picture of Mametchi and Memetchi on either side. Thats a V5.5 celebrity.
if you cannot tell the designs, look up on google images, V5.5 designs.
