Not sure if this has been brought up before, but there are Chinese bootleg Tamagotchi IDs floating around. I see them being sold here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Tamagotchi-electronic-pet-free-shipping/897283136.html

Not sure if there are some around on Ebay, but they look almost like the real deal out of package, except when turned on of course. The back gives it away as a fake, though.

Just wanted to let others know about these fakes, and I really hope they're not being sold on Ebay any time soon as being real--ask for pictures of the back and with it turned on to make sure!

Judging from the picture of one turned on further down the page, I would say not. I can't even tell if that's a real image of the pet working, or if the toy is a glorified lightbulb, meaning there's a light inside to turn on to see an image but it doesn't do anything, it's just a picture.

I guess the good news would be they can maybe be used for spare parts?

Oh my goodness... those bootlegs are such eyesores!

Well yeah it doesn't look coloured to me either based on the screenshots shown on the packaging.

I don't think those could be used for spare parts... I'll bet those are too low-quality -_-

Thanks for sharing this with us.
