A poem for my black kitty Makiko who WENT a long time ago. 
She was my best friend ever...and still is. I hope you are happy where ever you are, Makiko.
I still want to stroke your soft black fur
I still need to hear your peaceful purr
I still want to admire your graceful stride
I still need you by my side
I remember how you were always there
You were the only one who seemed to care
I thought we’d always be together
But I learned that nothing lasts forever
Why, why, why did you leave?
It makes me cry, cry, cry, and I just can’t believe
That I may never see my best friend again…
And I’ll never know why it happened
I miss your delicate whiskers, your gentle paws
Your long tail and even your sharp claws
I miss everything that was unique about you
And now it’s all gone… how can it be true?
Why did you go, go, go?
I won’t give up, no, no, no
I keep wishing, no matter what they say
I keep hoping you’ll return one day
