How do you get a Character on a Mini?

Hi there, so I've been running an American Tamagotchi Mini for some time now... I found this growth chart:

Note the secret characters, Lucky Unchi-kun on the Japanese version and Ginjirotchi on the American one. I currently have a Mametchi, it's been nearly a week since he evolved. Is there a certain method I should be using or how long do I need to wait for him to evolve?

I believe that, like on the P1 and P2, you need to give your adult perfect care in order for it to become a special character. B)
