how many Tamagotchis in total?

hello every body,

i just got back into tamagotchis and i searched a lot for the different tamagotchi versions and saw so bretty shell designs.

i wonder if anybody have an idea, how much different tamagotchis there are in total?

i mean when you count every tama in every available shell and color.

has anyone an idea? maybe one of the collectors?

I think its impossible to count every shell design, as some have just been discovered this year, like the Sweet 17 TamaGoChu and there are many others that were held in a design competition that many people don't know of, as they were local in the country...

I'm a butt at maths, but I'd go with around a thousand. It's impossible to count, but we can speculate.

around a thousand. the version 3 tamagotchi alone has 24 designs and thats only included the north american designs theres tonnes more from of regions.

you're honestly looking at well over 1000 tamagotchis.

there is no way to count them all as some are rare and some are still being discovered. and there is no list any where as no one in their right mind has time to file all of them.

oh my gosh! SO many? i thought around a few hundreds, but thousands?! that's really amazing.

not good for all the collectors. they will never be able to collect all. it's impossible >.<

Also considering that some versions are very expensive... I don't know if there is someone who can possibly afford every design of a devilgotchi. Hobby is a hobby, but...

Yeah seriously. Trying to collect every Devilgotchi design would bankrupt someone. Most collectors are lucky if they only manage to get one.

no one collects every design. that'd be pretty stupid. unless they were a millionare.

most of us collectors collect one of each we like

the more extreem collectors collect one or two of each version, but not design.

Like me. Although I did buy a second v3 because my first one is pretty worn already.

Used connections are fairly cheap here (pretty rare though) so ahen I find a good auction I just snag one while I can. This way I have three v3's and some more duplicates.

i have more than one design of each versions but DEFINITELY NOT everyone OMG could you imagine the cost! just the versions i enjoy and the shells that i love thats why i trade and sell etc to get the ones i want ^.^

I would definitely say there could be over a thousand designs, but that is a little extreme.

You have to take in mind there were many special editions. The V3 connexion has a gold design which is very hard to get hold of. Designs will also differ depending in country and so on. Then there's the extremely rare ones (devilgotchi).

Maybe it's less, maybe more. You could always contact Bandai.

OMG OK WENT THROUGH A COUNT OF MY TAMAGOTCHIS AND I HAVE:

103 tamagotchis 93 in 2013 and than so far 9 this year...

there is over 200 tamagotchi items and tamas total in my collection already that includes:

vintage cases

stickers

gotchi figures

etc...

Devilgotchis are not as rare as a Yasashii, I think. Also, v3 had some rare king and queen designs, one pearl pink, one pearl blue. (I think it's a v3 at least... Might as well be keitai...)

Yes I think Yasashiis are the rarest... however they don't seem very interesting and physically attractive (more looking like a 0.99cents fake x.X) Why pay 400$ for that fakie?

For that price, get two Devilgotchis, three Santagotchis, 8 Oceans or 20 connections... x) AT LEAST!
