I can read Usawaka-something on the little pink strap it comes with. That means Rabbit child.

I've not seem this pet before but the first thing that comes to mind is that it could be some kind of dating/friendship pet where you can exchange messages.

Do you have a link to the listing, not just the photo? Information on the site could help figure out what it is

But they do not give any details in that listing. (they sell it together with some other fake tamagotchis, and I think they only sell to Singapore).

Anyway, after searching more for this, I found a Japanese webpage explaining a bit: https://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/20060511/toy218.htm. The google translated version is not that great, but I can figure some things out from it - looks like it's a pet that sends you mails and you reply to it and so on, I think you need a lot of Japanese knowledge to play with it.

Ohh yay you found it ^__^. I'll have a look and see if I can find anything else for you too.
But I imagine if it's centred around mail you will since you'll probably have to be able to read the messages etc.

Edit: Just had a look, don't know if you noticed but it seems you have to reply correctly to the messages in Japanese to make the pet happy or to grow etc.
So yeah, unless you want to and can learn Japanese quickly I wouldn't say this toy is worth it :/
