What do you do when you get a used Tamagotchi with a download option? Do you reset it or download? If you download, do you continue it or just check how far the previous owner got?

For me, if it's like a V1 or V2 or something, I try continuing where they left off. But any of them with usernames and birthdays I always end up resetting. Still, I always download just to at least see where they left off. It's so interesting sometimes. xD

I'm curious what the rest of you do. :3

I always download first and then reset. I once got a second-hand version 4 and the Tamagotchi was named "Butt"

I also once downloaded a second-hand Version 5 and the date was Christmas! Somebody must have got the Tamagotchi for Christmas and only played for one hour (since the characters were toddlers on generation 1 and there was no history or anything)

Yeah, I like downloading as well. Usually I reset afterwards, but not always; sometimes I just don't have the heart to... I might take care of the character until it's an adult, and maybe even let it get a baby, so that they can leave together for tamagotchi planet when I reset. :p it feels more like a finished chapter then...

I download and raise the thing. It beats having to deal with the baby stage for a while. Lol. Usually I find they are adults in the download. The times and dates are always random though. Although, both my iD were set at the correct date when I got them. *eye shift* that was strange.

I usually download to see where they got up to but rarely raise them. I like to see how many generations I can get through without a death. The second hand ones I receive have all had the death animation running when I download anyway.

I always download, just to see if they have done anything interesting with their Tamagotchi, but I almost always reset after that. People like to give silly/mean names to their Tamagotchi far too often and that makes me a bit sad so it's rare that I raise one with a name I don't like, same with usernames and all that.

I do the same; download first, then reset so I can put my name as the user. I want "my" points and items; not someone else's.

I tend to download only when I'm checking for functionality rather than when I'm ready to run the Tamagotchi - in my experience, they tend to be in the baby stage.

I always download and see if it can be nursed back to health. If not, the reset button has a party.

Sadly, when I download on used tamagotchis, they are usually dead. I lucked out recently... I decided to test an Akai I had gotten second-hand, and the character had 5,000 points. I did not reset :p

I usually just reset it. One time I downloaded a Tama and it had a bad word for a name. >_<

I just got a used V5, and I downloaded just to see. The family had died on December 29th (so a few days after the person got the tamagotchi for Christmas I guess). 0 points. No items. So I reset it. :p

Jokous, that's an excellent idea.

For me, I will download to see the stats and take a picture of it then reset (but so far I did not get any used tamas yet)

I predict they will reset it first then sell it though.
