Sorry for such a weird topic but I noticed religious references in Tamagotchi XD

For example in one of the corner shop games, when you buy the Hatokamitchi thing in Care Mode Mametchi would say "Don't forget to pray at least once a day!" and Kuchipatchi would say "I wonder if anything good will happen if I keep on praying".

In the anime:

In one of the earlier episodes, No Boys Allowed! Princess Day Party Queen Tamako says to the girl Tamagotchis, "I'll be praying for your happiness" or something like that XD I know 'cause the episode is in English

In Yume Kira Dream Yumemitchi says "Please, God!" when doing some sort of lottery thing BUT I might be mistaken, she said kami-san I think and kami means god, and she said onegai I THINK which means please...I'm too lazy to find the episode again to check.

And in GO-GO Tamagotchi, I noticed hitomitchi wearing a cross necklace. So I looked on Google and read that hitomi, the singer hitomitchi is based on, is a devout Christian eue

Princess Tamako seems to pray in a couple of episodes, she has her hands in a praying gesture and doesn't talk.

Maybe Tamagotchis are Christchians XD

So um yeah random topic

*flies away*

Umm well the thing is Japan isn't really super religious more of superstitious. Praying is a regular thing in Japan but it's more to pray for good luck and health in life, I've personally gone to many parts of the kinki region with my host family to different shrines where they all pray and make offerings to "gods" for luck and wishes to have dreams be fulfilled it's just a tradition in Japan and they told me they weren't religious and remember their original religion isn't Christian or catholic it's Shintoism and Buddhism which even then is still not worshiped in general by everyone so it's not religious in that same way. Remember every aspect of tamagotchi and the anime is based on Japanese culture in one way or another and Christianity while it is starting a tiny tiny bit to be worshipped by some it isn't a big overall part of Japanese culture

Also with hitomi's outfit that isn't religious at all there has and still kinda is a trend in Japan called Gothic as you obviously know anyway as it's a trend in general, but it is known in Japan for being a style involving dark English style frills and dresses mixed with crosses and just overall religious classical fashions from old England and turned dark and modern. It is also very popular for idols to have photo shoots and such with all ranges of fashion styles In Japan remember Lovelitchi was flipping through a magazine.

Oh oops, my friend told me about that before but I forgot ouo'

And also I forgot to mention the Tamax-TV shows where Lovelin and her friends are nuns

*flies away again*

Wow!Good topic! But why hitomi appears in the anime but all the other awesome previous singers didn't? :/

I'd like to point out that in one of the episodes on Youtube, Meloditchi yells "Oh my god" at one point (also it was the japanese anime, and you know how she speaks english a lot in that) I found that pretty funny in a way XD

In Yume Kira Dream Yumemitchi says "Please, God!" when doing some sort of lottery thing BUT I might be mistaken, she said kami-san I think and kami means god, and she said onegai I THINK which means please...I'm too lazy to find the episode again to check.
I thought she said "Please help me heaven" lol also like Purple Pyonkotchi said Melodytchi says "Oh my god" alot in the anime

doesn't the angelgotchi has a praying feature

Did you get that from the subtitled version? :/ I can't find any instance of kami meaning heaven, and why would she call heaven "-san"? The subtitled version isn't very accurate to be honest oops

Anyway, as for Melodytchi saying "Oh my God", using God's name like that is a sin as far as I'm aware :p

Well, of course, since you can't use the god's name in vain. But as far as I know about Japanese entertainment ethnics, I don't think they don't mind at all using "oh my god," even with children...

Well in aikastu they have a album for kids called "sexy style" so I don't think they know what everything means hahaha "oh my god" is just a saying I say it a lot it's lost it's religious reference and become just a sentence.

Maybe Japan doesn't really care that much being religious in kid animes they say like "Thank God" or something else
