So I have two Tamagotchi Connection v4's (which can be seen here) but whenever I try to connect them, they just sit there and then go back to the main screen and don't connect at all. I don't know why they're doing this because they always used to connect just fine. Do you think there's something wrong with the infrared in one or both of them? Or are they just being buggy? And does anyone know how to fix or test this? It's frustrating because I want my tamas to connect and be friends and all that, but I can't do that when they're not connecting

They just got fresh batteries 3 days ago, and haven't been connecting since. Granted, they've not been used in like 8 years, but still?

I had this problem with my V4! I got mine from I garage sale so I don't know how long it went without being played with. Eight years is a pretty long time and they might have been dammaged?  Here are some ideas to help:

Try pressing the reset button and select download. You can also try new batteries or a new brand of batteries. And make sure your in a room that isn't too hot or too cold. Tamagotchis don't connect well in those kinds of conditions. If these suggestions don't work then you might have to open up your tama and see what's wrong. I never got mine to work again (but I didn't open it because it's my only V4). I hope you are able to fix it. ;)

I've tried resetting and everything, but it didn't make a difference. I think the infrared might be damaged, so I'll have to open it up later today~

Did you remember to press the B button while on the connecting screen?

Thanks~

Yeah, I'm super glad nothing was wrong. I was worried I'd have to rewire everything
