Meh, the Stuff We Read forum needs more more topics so here's one about Creepypastas, stories made to disturb, horrify, or scare the reader.

Do you like them or not? Which is your favorite?

Being a scaredy-cat and mentally unstable, and having no interest in violence or horror, I'm not a pastafan but I do read them every once in a while, but only if I know they won't scare me. The first creepypasta I read was smiledog, I found out about it because I saw the image one night. The reason why the story scared me so much was because it said seeing the smiledog image would cause you to have dreams and go into a state of fear and eventually commit suicide, and I dreamed of smiledog the night I saw the image even though I didn't read the story at that time... after reading the story I started hallucinating, I was constantly in a state of fear and shivered and cried. Every tiny thing e.g. my cat jumping, someone opening a door, startled me, making me jump and squeal. I became disoriented from lack of sleep and it just wasn't a pleasant experience for me. :/

I want to be as happy as possible and creepypastas do nothing of the sorts, in fact they can be a danger to people's mind and health...but I guess I was just paranoid o3o;

And it's fine if you like them ^_^

I don't like it if some creepypastas encourage readers to do bad stuff... :/ There was a report on 2 12-year-old girls who attacked their friend with a knife, because of reading creepypasta stuff about Slenderman. o_0 Of course, that's not necessarily the creepypastas' fault; the girls probably were already desensitized and had messed up minds.

Hah, Slenderman isn't scary XD

EDIT:

When you enter the Creepypasta Wiki chat, it says, "Yes, we've heard about the two girls" as a greeting message :p Referring to the girls in Doomer's post of course~

I love creepypastas. They're hilarious. I've read the ones that are meant to be actually scary, but they're still funny. #IAmUnscarable

I cannot handle horror AT ALL. The most recent one I read was lavender town, and all the creepypastas surrounding it. Now I have trouble sleeping by myself. Recently have read a few on Deviantart. Again, REGRET. Every creepypasta I read, I get super creeped out.

I like creepypasta. My favorite is the Russian Sleep Experiment just because of how creepy it is. Although the lavender town syndrome doesn't work, it just gave me a headache. Some of the neopets ones made me unable to play neopets for a few days.

Russian Sleep Experiment is weird and I've heard it might be true but for some reason crazy paranormal stuff scares me more than realistic stuff XD And the thing that the sleep-deprived guy said at the end made the whole story unbelievable :p If he didn't say it then maybe I'd consider it might be true.

Yeah the Lavender Town music gives headaches to a LOT of people but that's because of the painfully high frequency.

I read more pokemon creepypastas on Deviantart...Reds love, Victor, and DEMISE. Well, curiosity killed the cat. Some advice: Think of it as a funny situation:

Jeff the Killer: GO TO SLEEP

Me: I WAS SLEEPING UNTIL SOME ONE DECIDED TO WAKE ME UP WITH THAT GODFORSAKEN KNIFE!

Jeff the Killer: ...You're supposed to cower in fear

Me: lol nope

Or:

Buried Alive: I'm so lonely...won't you join me?

Me:**gives him a piece of paper and walks out of cemetery**

Buried Alive:**reads**

The paper contains links to dating sites

Buried Alive: ...isn't eHarmony for oldies?

I only read Creepypastas during the day so they don't scare me.

But then at night I'm afraid of falling asleep because I don't want to have a nightmare x3x
