My Music Star's battery finally died. During Keiichi's debut! So I put a new battery in and wouldn't turn on. Someone mentioned bending the battery contacts a little so that the battery would connect and I wouldn't break my Music Star in half trying to get it to turn on. I bent them just a little and it turned on. I selected Download and Keiichi was gone! It just had a letter with Bye Bye written on it and the profile said that Keiichi weighed 99 pounds. Keiichi only weighed about 34 pounds when the battery died. I tried to get him back by removing the battery again and it started up with a line of black pixels. After a while of messing with it, I got the black pixels to go away, but I reset over Keiichi and now I have a baby girl named Carrie. I kept all my toys and instruments and have a little money like I had just started. Keiichi is listed in the Memory area as weighing 99 pounds. I don't mind starting over, but why did Keiichi leave and and have a glitched weight amount? What's with the black pixel line? Is there any way to make sure it doesn't happen again?

That is crazy. I have no idea what happened here, but I'll link to a page where I wrote about a somewhat rare glitch I discovered a while ago. It's a kinda crazy glitch, that is not too difficult to fix but maybe more difficult to recognise it as such, since it can completely mess up the tama, making many people simply consider it broken instead of searching for a fault. I call it the "sensetive wire glitch". It is the only cause of the fault that I can think of based on my own experiences right now, but it might not be it; it's just an idea...

Scroll down a bit and you'll see it; a really long post by me ;)

Good luck in fixing your tama!

This also happened to my sister's Music Star once. I'm sorry I really can't help you, but I'd like to know why it did that if anyone else has an answer!

I can't say there's anyway of making your tama Keiichi return, but i have a theory on how it happened.

When you put the battery in you must of caused some sort power surge or something similar. When it had it's "Surge" it must of been put into some sort of super hyper speed mode for a short time, thus speeding simulation by a humongous number. Now you have the dead tama.

I dunno, it's just a theory, and is probably not the actual case. I like to let my mind wander a bit when trying to think of something rational, and this was the most rational thing i could think of.

Never thought of that, but it makes complete sense. Genius, and explains a lot of the weird phenomena actually!
