I'll try to answer my own questions about this toy—you can ask your own if you'd like. There are some things I want to test, and many things I have yet to learn. I didn't notice the allowance the Tamagotchi gets when growing a stage until today.

Rough count of items in each (general) category:

  • 32 food consumables
  • 9 other consumables, 5 of which are the travel tickets
  • 31 toys, 20 of which are character-specific
 
Do I just have too much free time? Huh? "Outline key points from this video in one page." I wrote two pages, and in half the time most other people took to fill just one. Is this really okay? There's some limit to healthy enthusiasm, right? :wacko:

I wrote a lot of other stuff I didn't really need to write today. I discussed character development some more and also wrote down some observations, theories, and questions about the Akai series.

Some key points from my notes:

  • Akai Tamagotchi will call for discipline every three hours1
  • The vendor shows at 11:00 and 17:00 each day
  • The matchmaker shows at 10:30, 15:00, and 19:00; the usual times
  • Winning Poipoi (first game) gets 100 GP, and a drop in weight (three grams)
  • Winning Haitatsu (second game) also gets 100 GP, and a drop in weight (three grams)
  • Guessing correctly with Suiei (third game) will get you 30 GP, and regardless of whether the guess is correct, there is a three-gram loss of weight

Supposedly, getting the great poo from the Gotchi King (only 1000 GP :D ) means you won't need to clean up anymore. After donating, enter the password 66274 84674 to visit the King.

Spoilers: I describe what happens, with visuals.

The Gotchi King descends to see you, scoots over, and lets down a large pile of poo. The poop shows its facial features and limbs. After that, you're left with a crown (which you can view at any time in the same place as you can your other regular items).

So, IR still works with the foam on it. Great.

Hiragana characters appear on my American Tamagotchi.

Whenever the red Tamagotchi wake, they age one year (similar to other Japanese Tamagotchi). This is easy to take advantage of: set the clock to some sleep hour and then back to day. Don't even need to leave the clock screen
