Does anybody else have a lot of trouble with getting the correct amount of care misses? I've read countless posts about what exactly constitutes a care miss, and this is the general consensus: Let the Tama drop to 0 hungry OR happy, let it call for you (attention icon appears), then ignore until the attention icon goes away about 15 minutes later and that is one care miss.

I've done this same exact thing to get care misses on my Tamagotchi Friends and my Tamagotchi iD L. I truly don't understand the concept on the TF and I've had a lot of trouble getting "Good" (moderate) and "Bad" characters, sometimes even getting the best "Excellent" characters even when I give multiple care misses. I finally managed to get Tacttchi, who is listed as a "Good" character, but I honestly don't know how because I was still doing exactly what I did before.

Now, on the iD L it at least lists exactly how many care misses you need for certain characters, and I was finding it easier. However, the last few times I've tried to get moderate characters (specifically, Moriritchi and Pichipitchi), I've given the care misses using the method described earlier, and I even documented them by writing down each time I got a care miss, and I still got the worst characters in their bracket, Memetchi and Furawatchi. I've gotten Memetchi twice in a row now trying to get Moriritchi. This last time I messed up and only got to give 2 care misses before Painaputchi grew into an adult, but I STILL got Memetchi somehow?

Someone please explain to me exactly what I'm doing wrong. Is there something I'm missing with the method I'm using? Am I somehow giving worse care than I want to, or better care than I want to?

Whenever the attention icon lights up and your tamagotchi calls you and you ignore him until he stops calling you, it's a care miss. So if BOTH the hunger and happy meter are empty at the same time that are two care misses.

Maybe you knew that, but that could be an explanation for the quoted above.

I know I totally forgot that yesterday, when I tried for a Kuromametchi, but got a Paintotchi instead. :p I forgot to count the empty hunger and happy bars as two care misses.

Aside from that... I never really had a problem with care misses, because usually I don't track if they are happening, because I only get a lot of care misses when I don't have time and don't pay much attention to it. >_>"

As Abokado mentioned, letting both metres drop will count as 2 misses, but from your above quote I've included in my post, you've been making sure to just have one care miss at a time. I have never had any problems with the method you have described here - it works perfectly for me every time. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but this is the method I follow :)

Yup, I've only been letting hungry hearts/meter drop to empty and keeping happy full, so I know that's not it. Maybe I'm just really unlucky or somehow counting wrong? My Memetchi is now grown so I'm going to get a new baby today. I'll keep very close track and log the whole process to see exactly what I do, when I do it, and try to catch any mistakes. If I still have problems...well, I don't know how I'm going to get all characters and all Tamatomos then.
