There are many things to like and dislike about this version, I do like the design, it is based off of the Japanese id L, but I do like the iD L's a lot.
I don't like that logo is now pink, making TMGC targeted toward more girls than boys, also the fact it is in the girl's section in stores.
The button reaction when playing games seems to be a little more lax than the Japanese Tamagotchi's and older American versions that I'm used to. It's really hard to play the games without sound(Might just be me though)
It is bigger than the 4U, which also has a flat back and the Tamagotchi is way more intricate than the Friends version.
I don't like where the battery placement is to get the batteries in and out, although it's more or less the plate covering it rather than the location of it.
It's hard to get certain characters (I've grown several generations most of the females where Cofferetchi's)
I do like the Collectible Crown, Rings and Necklaces, though I feel that other things could be as collectibles rather than a bunch of gaudy jewelry.
I do like the new features such as the NFC, it seems like Tamagotchi is catching up with the times.
The Character pixelations are very detailed.
They have introduced several characters to North America, South America, Europe and Russia from the Japanese version. (They still have yet to release Meloditchi in America)
It's a new Tamagotchi, we should be happy that Bandai is still trying to keep the product line going. Hopefully the world will get what Japan has.
They have Dream Town, which is an equivalent of the V3 - V5.5 TamaTown's (Music City was way better and was well loved)
There are several good points and several bad points to the new Tamagotchi Friends, but I think there's always room for improvement and bandai has done it before. They have made versions in color, like the more recent 4U's and the beginning TMGC +Color. They've made smaller versions that are easily transportable, like the Tamagotchi Nano. They've made 2 versions that were compatible with an online community where you could interact with other Tama Fans, Music City. and they also have been keeping the Craze going since '96. even though it goes in spurts where it is extremely popular and then all of a sudden it's unheard of. We just need to support the Version and ask for marketing towards neutral gender, that way they have the whole market to sell to, not just half of the market. I hope they do change some things, but all I really want is for them to continue making Tamagotchi's because at the end of the day it doesn't matter, to me, if it's in the girl section and I, and 18 year old boy, goes to that section and buys every product.
