I don't wish for that because I'm way too shy to communicate with other human beings >.<

But to be honest... that USED to happen to me in the Tamagotchi Connection golden years :D

Not many people at my school were about Tamagotchi, I even remember watching the v5 commercial and wanting the Tamagotchi. Never did get it due to me not knowing how to say/type Tamagotchi (I only say the commercial once). At my school Webkinz were the craze which surely annoyed me, because I preferred Neopets.

That actually happened to me when I was at my orthodontist office when I was like 11 or 12 lol.

He had Nintendogs as well, that was such a good day!

Yup. At the anime convention. Someone had a v4 and of course, all my tamas were home because I didn't want em stolen. (downtown land... Eh) the next year I had ALL my colors and nobody had them. Or not out... Some people did say they had them, ironicly enough.

The last time someone was interested when they saw my Tamagotchis in public was late 2012 :( (They saw my Tama-Go)

I was born in 1999 and for me the craze of Tamagotchi only happened in my Chinese School I was attending to... In fact I remember bawling as a 7 year old because everyone accused me in stealing this one girl's v3-4, and questioning me on how much a Tamagotchi costed.

A few years back when I ran the V1 - V4 regularly I did used to hope that but more usually I got "What on earth is that...? A toy...? Oh.... OKaaaay...."

I found it more interesting to watch how other Adults struggled to keep their comments neutral and not disparaging or negative than actually wishing they might have a tama to connect with :p

Only a couple of kids I knew used to regularly bring their tamas so they could connect with mine but they grew bored and moved onto to DS games etc.

Back in the day yes, nowadays... Not so much. I'm lucky if people even know what I'm playing, although many of the people my age remember their Tamagotchis from an earlier era fondly once reminded.

It would be neat if that ever happened to me, but it never has. :( I wish that Tamagotchi was popular again.. :p But it would probably never happen..We just gotta believe that someday it'll be popular again! :)

How popular are Tamagotchis in Japan, anyways?

Since Japan is a place where theres high tech, I wonder if the kids in this generation there has moved on, or are still rockin' the Tama P's or something. :)

Actually, I never ever experienced something like that...though there was one time in middle school where I brought my handful of Tamagotchis (that were all attached to one ball chain), and my "friend" (she switches from nice to mean) named Skylar said, "Nice Tamagotchis". I'm like, "Thanks!"

That was the ONLY time that a student in my class noticed my Tamagotchis.

I think it depends on the age and location. When I was in Japan, people were more about their DSs than anything else. When I mentioned Tamagotchis to my friends their recently, they didnt know they were still being made. I think it is a very niche market. I wish I knew how to make them popular again.

Tamagotchis are mostly popular among very young children in Japan. So people might only know Tamagotchis are being made if their children are Tamagotchi fans. :p

Umm--no. I don't take mine out in public any more, and haven't seen anyone with one in years. They stay quietly at home, and enjoyed in private.

LOL yeah i used to do that when i had my v2 and v3 :D

dont think ill be going out with this tamagotchi friends though. Being 21 i probably would get laughed at LOL :D

No. You aren't the only one. I wish the same thing. I remember back in the day, when I was in second grade, EVERYONE had a tamagotchi, and if you didn't have one, you lived under a rock. In a few years, the digital toys were stashed away, and no one spoke about them again. I felt alone. So yes, I'd be lying if I said I don't wish for someone to approach me with their tamagotchi. I take mine in public with no shame.
