I don't think you can. If your either SONNY or TWIPZ you'd have to restart the 4u with that username and the same birthday again I believe.

Oh, so I have to use the original usernames that were used with the Touch Card? Because I started with RATCHET this time...so yeah, now I see why it won't let me get my items. XD

 
ahhh so if a touch card has been used twice, it'll say it when you try to tap? I tried to tap my touch card but I got this message instead. i don't know how to resolve this and need help rather badly.

That means that it failed to read the card (roughly translated as Read Failed). This may be due to the NFC mark not touching the card correctly. You have to place it on the icon on the card where it says "Touch Spot". It took a few tries for my 4U to read the card, but it worked eventually.

So I need to touch it at the black spot? Cause I asked around and even watched youtube videos and it seems to be touching the middle part of the card. I'm really confused but anyway, I tried tapping everywhere and it doesn't work. What other causes could it be?

They're doing it wrong. You can't really touch it with the middle of the card. The 4U needs its NFC mark to be facing the NFC Touch Spot icon on the card. Make sure that the NFC mark on the back of your 4U is facing the Touch Spot and also make sure it is lined up. You will hear a confirmation beep when it has read the card. You can only use the card once per username. If you use it more than two times (one for each username registered), it will not let you get the items if you use it three times. You can only use with the usernames that you have used. Another file will not overwrite the touch card data to where you can use the username you have now.

but in my case, the card hasn't been used before right? it's just connection failed? cause I got this card off a seller online and I'm not sure if it's being used before...

Well, check the order you placed from the seller for your Touch Card. Check the status of it and see if it was used. If it was used, your 4U should still be able to connect to it even though it's used.

It was stated unused and whenever I try to tap, it says connection failed. I guess I have to keep trying it... at every spot. Will changing of batteries work?

Update after trying A LOT of times:

The struggle is real. I can't get it to work. I tried moving it a little at a time all over the card but it doesn't work! I still get that error message. ):

Try it once again, and keep it still on the Touch Spot icon on your card. Do NOT move it at all and wait a few seconds until the message appears again or until it beeps and shows you the items.

I tried leaving it for 10seconds at every spot but when the error message pops up, it's like almost immediate. if I wait, it doesn't change anything but stuck at the icon and it eventually went back to show my tama.

I have asked some Japanese people to help me out but the English was a bit confusing. I'll copy it here:

* A board contains a communication prevention seat, so a card is removed from a board certainly.

* Please turn on the power again.

* The body is read at the center of the card.

* It sometimes take about 10 seconds for the reading of a card.

* It's exchanged for a new battery.

* It's difficult to read, so when it's put for about 10 seconds at the center of the card, it's said that it's easy to read. Still when not reading, degradation of a battery is considered, so please exchange it.

 
I'd guess their telling you to first of all reset your Tama and try to use the card again (* Please turn on the power again.). If that fails then try new batteries (Still when not reading, degradation of a battery is considered, so please exchange it).

Lord knows what the prevention seat is though lol.

Haha, prevention seat. In all seriousness, yeah, that might solve the problem.

so I gotta reset my tamagotchi and play it all over again and input a new name or do I choose the continue option?

 
I'd say try continue and see if it works. If not then try new batteries and again continue to see if that sorts it.

 
You shouldn't have to completely reset your tama, i had a few troubles with the aikatsu touchcard, i made sure i had the touchcard on a flat surface, i put the tama on the middle of the card and then selected the 4u touchspot connection icon and that worked. Before i was selecting the icon and then putting it on the touchcard and i kept getting that failed message.

Hope that made sense

Okay, I tried resetting and continue from there and used the touched card. It's not working. I have not tried changing it to a pair of fresh batteries but I'll try that next along with nattsplat's suggestion.

I really hope it works! I'm scared if this doesn't work the nexus 7 2nd gen might not work too. Is it my 4U that's faulty? ):
